COMPANY SECRETARY - LEGAL OFFICER

The term Company Secretary is not commonly used in North America except with British-based corporations.

The Institute of Corporate Secretaries and Administrators managed the training of officers who carried out most of the legal work for corporations, including acting as Secretary to the Board of Directors and usually the Chief Administrative Officer.

The closest term in North America is Legal Officer. It encompasses a wide range of administrative duties and skills.

As Assistant Company Secretary to the Spar-Vivo group of companies, was also Company Secretary for 16 of their subsidiaries.
