I shouldn't complain really...but the town is likely a carbon copy of many small towns that are a virtual unknown until some big robbery, murder or missing person story happens...There is 4 stoplights in the whole town. There is a downtown that looks like the 1930's still could be set about in just a matter of minutes. There is the new part that lacks any fun at all: just eateries, food stores, a video store, a few salons, a Walgreens and a lumber place. It's depressing to drive through on the main drag - because of the inability to see anything lively about it.
About the only thing: it's growing into the home for people looking to escape Illinois or Gary, IN. So, eventually, will see another Walmart come to town (whoopee!!) and maybe a Loew's or something....But I digress...
My boredom comes from knowing I'd like to visit some place else permanently...And get on with a real life. As of now, I have to take care of my difficulties and circumstances, without further conflict (that is what life is: conflict) and make some headway in small ventures...(Code for: I am not rich and I can't say I'll ever be rich...)
Anyways, Lowell is my small prison... I get out, play baseball, maybe catch a movie in Merrillville or go to a book store..but it's dull.
