November 15, 2006 - The Ides of November, Elections

Unlike the Ides of March, it more popular and historically significant older brother, the November version of this is filled with the anticipation of Holidays. But I digress.

Recent elections have put Mr. Bush's "Election Capital" at an all-time low. He is certainly deservant of the kick in the nuts for his stupid (and possibly impeachable) offense of dragging the United States into a Civil War. Make no mistake about it, this dude is incredibly dumb by even American political standards. Without his daddy, Bush Jr. would be running an Enron type company into oblivion and searching for a gas station to workat  as Goober did on Andy Griffith.

No, we have seen the light (I hope) in America and will soon rejoice in knowing our new elected officials will hold hearings, talk around Iraq and possibly get their newly-minted political hands into the cookie jar of the American pocketbook. A few scandals will arise again. More reminders of why people who attain power are usually bent to corruption and will hide it for years just to let you down. But that's life.

As Jed Clampton of Hillbilly fame said, "Y'all come back now, ya hear!!!" (Or maybe Porky Pig is a better close....)
