UNITY confab and working out of the White House Press Office as of 27 July 2008...
As a member of the National Association of Black Journalists' Chicago chapter, I would have made provision to register for today's UNITY-Journalists of Color Convention at McCormick Place earlier today if I had known that Barack Obama would be there to speak.
I think journalists have a duty to ask the right questions to Senator Obama and hate the kinds of stupid questions Charlie Gibson and Brian Williams put to Mr. Obama during the course of his hugely successful European/Mideast tour.
The motivation of the journalist steers the questioning. If I were accorded the great privilege to interview Barack Obama, I would play devil's advocate in such a way that Mr. Obama would be truly happy to have had the opportunity to discover who I am and what my priorities are. Thank you.
