Ezafé is an E sound which in Persian is the equivalent of the English possessive ('s); or an adjective connector; or a sign of apposition. Thus:

Ordinarily, the ezafé is not written. But when the word coming before an ezafé ends with a long A or a long U, then it is replaced by a yé or

After a long I, the ezafé is pronounced but not written.
