My Dear Friend:
There are many different choices that have to be made here on earth. We need to choose what we will do with our lives; we need to choose what we should do to be alive (here on earth); and we need to choose the type of education we should have which will enable us secure the job we want. We clearly have to be prepared for the future. We need to be organized right now for the future.
This is the reason why I am writing to you. Have you prepared your life for the future? I am not asking about your future here in this world but in the new world that is to come. The Word of God says: "For the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23 NKJV).
When we break Gods Law, we are found to be sinful in His presence. Tell me, have you kept His Law faithfully? Read carefully this Law in Exodus 20 and answer honestly. According to the Word of God, we have all fallen short (Romans 3:23). But God so loved us that he sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to live a sinless life, to keep Gods Law faithfully, so as to redeem us from sin (Romans 5:8).
God says, that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9 NKJV).
What does this mean? This means that you must realise that you are a sinner and eternally lost. You have disobeyed Gods Law and are destined for death. You must realise that you need Jesus as your Saviour by confessing your sins and putting your faith in Him, and you must be willing to obey through loving Him.
If you really love Him, you will be willing to keep His commandments (John 14:15). Jesus said the greatest commandment in the Law is that You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart(Math. 22:37 NKJV). Love is the fulfilment of the Law (Romans 13:10). The love of your God will prevent you from having other gods, making carved images, taking the name of the Lord your God in vain and not keeping his Sabbath holy (Exod. 20). Do you love Him enough to be willing to keep His commandments? (1 John 5:3).
Many Christians do not know the role Gods Law should play in their lives. Yes, most of those will admit that the Ten Commandments are a yardstick of our daily living, but the meaning of Gods Law gets lost when they talk about the fourth commandment (James 2:10). Every Christian will accept that the other nine commandments need to be kept, but God gave us Ten Commandments. He that gave the other nine commandments also said: Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. (Exod. 20:8,10 NKJV).
Do you love Him enough to be willing to keep His Sabbath? Do not keep it in order to be justified before God, for we are justified by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Keep the Sabbath as an act of obedience --- because you love Him.
I have received Him as my Saviour and I have decided to make my day of worship his Holy day, the seventh day of the week, because I want to demonstrate my love to Him through my obedience. I am now asking you to make a similar choice. It is YOUR CHOICE and only you can make it.
