Even with wet wood, experienced campers have a large fire going only a few minutes after landing at Knob Hill
Hawk really liked this fire. I hope he gets new rain pants before next year

A Wadena County employee talks about possible locations of the 4 canoes that were lost the night before.
Looks like Wadena county knows the importance of a good dependable pickup
Nobody canoed on Sunday, we just sat around the fire until everybody was gone

This year's canoe trip was one of the most challenging canoe trips any of us had been on.
We had sunshine on Friday most of the day while everybody was getting there.
Friday evening it started to rain and it never stopped until Sunday morning.
The high temperature on Saturday was 36 with a 10-15 mph southeast wind.
A few times during the day, the rain turned to slushy snow.
I think there were 17 canoes starting out but I could be off on that.
Even with the low numbers, the alumni were the majority again this year.
Of course I took my digital camera along in the canoe
and took a few pictures to prove we were there.
If anybody else has pictures from this trip or any previous trip that they would
like to share send them to me at [email protected] and I'll put them on here.
