This old
ranch stands on the ruins of a Spanish fort, which was
built in
the early 1800s by the Vegas family. Screams, sounds of fighting
and struggle,
and wispy phantoms have haunted the site since the 1860s.
The violence
of years gone by have left their mark here.
location
Eagle Pass is on the Mexican border in southwestern Texas,
fifty-five
miles south ofDel Rio on U.S. Highway 277. The ruins
are twenty
miles northeast of the town of Eagle Pass, toward
Crystal
City. It is on land now owned by the Chittim Ranch.
