INTERVIEW FROM SKY SPORTS

IBF and WBA holder Holyfield will jet into London next month to hold court alongside WBC champion Lewis to kick off the huge promotion campaign necessary to cover the outlay of promoter Don King. There will be also be a tour of the States by both fighters in an effort to drum up interest.

American Holyfield is in line for a $20million pay-day compared with the $10million to be banked by Lewis. However that appears to be of no concern to the Brit's camp after the two-year chase to meet Holyfield draws to a conclusion.

Talking exclusively to Sky Sport's Ringside, Lewis declared: "That's where Muhammad Ali fought and there have been some great fights there. It will be part of history to fight Holyfield in those surroundings. Hopefully when I go to the Garden, I'll feel the same aura as those guys felt.

"I think Holyfield has been getting the message through my boxing. I've been saying 'where's Evander the 'Evander'? When's he going to put his name to the contract?"

On the subject of selling the fight, Lewis added:" It's like a job. When you wake up in the morning you have to go to a press conference in ten different parts of the country so you can sell the fight. It's going to be funny at first being in the same company as him. "I don't think there will be too much bad mouthing. But I'm ready for it if it happens, all the time. He's going to get more money than me. It has to be - he's got two titles. So he can have more money, plus he wants more money, so we'll give it to him because he is holding my belts."

Lewis' manager Frank Maloney said: "There are no major problems with the fight, there are just a couple of legal things to sort out. The television is all agreed. TVKO, the pay-per-view company of Home Box Office, will screen it.

"If the fight does take place at Madison Square Garden it will be a great privilege. Most people remember the other great heavyweight fight of modern times there between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier in 1971. To stage the unification fight in the most famous arena in America would make Lennox and myself proud be part of this history-making event."
