TYSON CLASH TO CAP MY CAREER - LEWIS

Lennox Lewis is contemplating retirement - but only after he has faced Mike Tyson.

Lewis believes the match all boxing wants to see is likely to take place in the middle of next year.

``I am only thinking about one fight next year, and that's with Mike Tyson,'' the world heavyweight champion told Radio 5 Live's Sports Review of the Year programme.

``There is too much money and too much demand for the fight. Too many people want it.

``I imagine it will take place next year, probably in the middle of the year.

``Once I get Tyson out of the way, I will probably think about retiring.''

Asked if he would change his retirement plans if he lost, Lewis replied: ``There will be only one result, and I will emerge victorious.''

Lewis is planning to continue in boxing once he hangs up his gloves, either as a promoter or trainer.

He is promised to give Olympic gold medallist Audley Harrison a hand if he needs it.

``He has proved he is the best amateur by winning the championship,'' said Lewis.

``He has a great pedigree. Now he has to show it as a professional. I would love to help him in any way possible.''

Lewis feels he has earned his place among the great fighters.

``I look at myself and believe I am one of the best of my era,'' he said.

``It has been a great year, very fruitful and very rewarding. I have accomplished all my goals after setting out on this journey.

``When I lost to (Oliver) McCall I went to America. I faced whoever they put in front of me and came back with all the belts.

``It is a little bit frustrating they have taken one of the belts away from me, but I have no control over that.''
