karin andrea - 10/10/99 00:24:27 My Email:[email protected] School/Work: art major/teaching credential Your Favorite Poet: pablo neruda Your Favorite Book: there are too many, it would be unfair What would you like to see included on my pages?: more of your lovely neruda translations. | Comments: your traslations of neruda's work are amazing. sadly, my spanish is not fluent, but i can read the english translations, and when my speach stumbles or i narrow my eyes because i know that he would never say anything so crass or unpoetic, i refer to the spanish text and do my own translations, as i can always tell when the translation was not a good one...i found your translations to be excellent. if i learn spanish again it will not only to be included in the long holiday talks at home, but so that i can read his words with the pasison and beauty and lovely understanding that was his intention. the words leave me breathless and staring, i only want more. thank you for doing such a lovely job, the words, they made me ecstatic. |
