think of Ancient Egypt and the cloth strip wrapped mummies
that are often shown in the movies? Over the last years,
the world has brought us a different type of mummy - the
Ice Mummy. Preserved in either high latitude or high
elevation sites, Ice Mummies are extremely well
preserved because the cold greatly reduces the rate
of decay. Artifacts are also well preserved as well
so information about clothing, food and culture are
also forthcoming. This site presents a variety of
up-to-date information on mummies as well as a full
teachers guide with student activities.
