Ice Mummies When someone says the word Mummy - Do you immediately think of Ancient Egypt and the cloth strip wrapped mummies that are often shown in the movies? Over the last years, the world has brought us a different type of mummy - the Ice Mummy. Preserved in either high latitude or high elevation sites, Ice Mummies are extremely well preserved because the cold greatly reduces the rate of decay. Artifacts are also well preserved as well so information about clothing, food and culture are also forthcoming. This site presents a variety of up-to-date information on mummies as well as a full teachers guide with student activities.

The prehistoric era is also called the Stone Age. The Stone Age is divided into two parts -- the Old Stone Age and the New Stone Age.
