Ares

Ares was undoubtedly the least attractive (not in a physical way; he was occasionally described as good looking in a dark and sinister way) of the three children produced by Zeus and Hera. He is usually depicted bloodstained, with a murderous look on his face. He love war and bloody battles. He was a terrible loser. When hurt, he would cry with pain, and run.

His sister, Eris (which means discord), was his usually companion, and she was just a bad as he was. She would laugh with joy during a battle, and never showed any mercy during conflict.

The Greeks may have disliked Ares, but they did not seem to fear him. He had no altars or special cities. His favorite animal, idealy, was the vulture.

The Romans called him Mars, and changed both his appearance and character for the better. To them he seemed invincible and strong. He never ran away when wounded. They even changed his animal from the vulture to the dog.
