Reviews on books

Matilda

This book is about a girl named Matilda who when her principle (Miss Trunchbull) attacks her she discovers she has amazing powers.  The next day she tells Miss Honey (her teacher) what she has found out.  Then after school that day Matilda goes to Miss Honeys house.  Together they go inside Miss Trunchbull’s house (Miss Honey's mean aunt) and sees all of her old treasures, like her doll and pictures.  Late at night the next day Matilda goes to Miss Trunchbull’s house and gets the doll.  When her mum tells her they are leaving to Taiwan she asks if she can stay with her because her parents are so mean to her.  They say fine and go to Taiwan.

George's Marvellous Medicine

George is alone in the house with his grandma who is horrid and cruel to him.  So when she calls him to give her the medicine he puts something in a bit different.  He goes searching around the house looking for all sorts of things, from curry sauce to shampoo and oil to face cream.  Then when he gives it to her she turns into all the things you cold possibly think of.  An amazing story everyone should read.

James and the giant peach

James has been living with his Aunt sponge and Aunt Spiker since his father and mother died by getting eaten by a rhinoceros.  Then one night he sneaks out and meats a man.  The man gives him these green things and tells him if you do what I say these will make your life as happy as ever.  But on the way back to the house he drops them and they go every where.  The next day he and the aunts see the peach growing on the tree.  It gets bigger and bigger and the next day he climbs in the peach and meats all different types of insects.  He makes friends with them and go on an exciting adventure.
