The following pages are the first few taken from the book "A Warning and its Reception" which was put together by Al Hudson of Baker, Oregon in 1959.
It consists principally of:
A 244 page document entitled "1888 Re-Examined" written to the General Conference officers by Pastors Wieland and Short who were delegates from different parts of Africa at the General Conference which was held in the fall [Sept/Oct?] of 1950.
The long-delayed official answer to their document issued by the officers of the General Conference in December 1951.
A second report by the officers of the General Conference issued in September 1958.
An answer from Wieland and Short to that later report. This was written in October 1958.
A third report from the General Conference officers in the early part of 1959.
The final letter of commitment written by Pastors Wieland and Short on January 21, 1959.
That final letter was then immediately followed by the production of this book which was put together as backup for a motion lodged with the Executive Committee of the North Pacific Union Conference.
The book has been in our possession since its publication and is an original printing as far as we know. Every endeavour has been made to preserve the original context of the book so that you, the reader, may be able to make your own decision as the reception it received. All the emphasis is in the original as far as we can tell (we added some over the years but we have attempted to remove these are far as possible). It has been "scanned" into the computer with the inevitable problems that go with this procedure, and therefore any mistakes which we have missed and which may appear are the responsibility of the present-day publishers for which we heartily apologise in advance.
Altogether there are 396 pages in the book and we plan to eventually put them all on the "Net". The speed at which we do this will depend on your response to the first few pages. So if you would like to see more, then get in touch!
