Harris Wood
as remembered by his sister, Catherine Wood Johnson

Harris the warrior and father of warriors.

His two sons are both career military.  His youngest child, Lee, is a Marine in the finest sense of the word, an idealist and a knowledgable, well-trained, well-prepared defender of  liberty and the priniciples of democracy.  These sons follow Harris's example.  His Amazon daughter Debby is a gun-toting co-owner of a pawn shop in Atlanta.

After serving in the military in World War II, Harris eventually became a federal penitentiary guard in Atlanta.  When he retired from being a federal employee, he became a worm rancher and started a tree cutting business.  He has had a very good marriage to Avis, a fine woman.  She was employed at Sears in Atlanta for many years.  Harris's first marriage to Virginia ended in divorce.

Harris and Avis are still living south of Atlanta.
