Auditions

All-City Orchestra auditions are a taped for both the middle school and high school levels. These tapes are judged by a panel of three judges for each type of instrument (violin, viola, cello, and bass).

Middle School All-City Orchestra

The Middle School All-City Orchestra is auditioned for by students from all the middle schools in Mesquite. This orchestra is a reflection of these schools efforts to make good quality music. Top performers from each school make this orchestra every year and have about two to three weeks to learn and perform music for the program. The Middle School All-City Orchestra is hosted by a different clinician every year that works outside the Mesquite district. This is a learning experience for the Mesquite student, as well as the Mesquite teacher.

The Kimbrough students are encouraged to audition for the All-City Orchestra. Although early in the year, seventh grade private lesson students and all eighth grade students should participate in this audition.
