Thankfulness comes in breaths
warm and glowing as such.
And, such as we are,
these moments lift us
to something higher than ourselves.

There suspended,
the world is suddenly right.
All worry, all troubles disguarded.
The meaning of all before, laid bare.

Thankfulness creates a special relationship
between us and our world.
In these times to suddenly refocus,
onto the things that are most important.

Oh that the thankfulness could linger,
and infuse those moments of despair.
That all memories could have a continuum,
so the dark would be shadowed by the light!
