Extra Baggage

Packing up our troubles,
packaging each negative reaction,
binding automatic emotions
to rockets that soar off, away from matters at hand...

In so many ways,
we create the baggage we carry
on our daily meanderings along life's journeys

What if we were to just
put the baggage down?

For some, there is meaning
and responsibility
for carrying life's burdens

But those are the rare few,
who see that they carry baggage,
not the ones who stumble along obivious
to the weighed bundles they have on their shoulders.

Oh to become the sort of traveler
who knows when packing present moments
which moments are in fact presents,
which perceptions are necessities,
and which things are in fact just
extra baggage.
