Fundamentals...
are what we speak of in beginnings.
Lattices training the brain's pathways,
ivy tendrils, seeking to branch out -
to find small niches in memory's stone.

But, like a blight on ivy towers,
come the paradigm shifts -
and there is a withering effect...
on both the heart,
and the vined structures

Wild ruins and hillsides,
where only wind bent pines.and
Distorted roots cling to the rock.
There, the crevices reveal moss clothed worlds of life.
This is where the real fundamentals are found.

Life in primitive, new fields -
where there are spaces and gaps to be filled
is cutting, bleeding, and sharp edged.
And still we seek to find structure -
even if the structure is chaos .
