Bosnak, Robert. "A Little Course in Dreams: A basic handbook of Jungian Dreamwork." Boston: Shambhala Publications, Inc., 1988. A hands-on book for learning how to record your dreams, written by a Dutch Jungian analyst.

Jung, Carl. "The Portable Jung." Campbell, Joseph, editor. New York: Viking-Penguin, 1976. A good overview of Jung's theories on how dreams effect the conscious/unconscious mind, as well as the collective unconscious.

Magallon, Linda Lane. "Mutual Dreaming: When Two or More People Share The Same Dream." New York: Pocket Books, 1997 $12.00 U.S./$16.00 Canada; ISBN: 0-671-52684-7; Simon & Schuster Customer Service 1-800-223-2348. A new study on people who share dreams, written for a lay audience. Berenbaum, Michael. "The World Must Know: The History of the Holocaust as told in the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum." New York: Little Brown and Company, 1993. A good one-volume study of the Holocaust; a companion to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C.

Dawidowicz, Lucy S. "The War Against the Jews: 1933-1945. New York: Bantam, 1976. A fine one-volume history of how the Holcaust unfolded.

Eliach, Yaffa. "Hasidic Tales of the Holocaust." New York: Vintage Books, 1988. Derived from interviews and oral histories. A deeply moving, spiritual volume.

Frank, Anne. "The Diary of Anne Frank: The Critical Edition." David Barnouw, Gerrold Van Der Stroom, editors. New York: Doubleday, 1989. Contains historical information, Anne Frank's original draft, her rewrites and notes. A compelling and fascinating book.

--- "The Diary of a Young Girl: The Definitive Edition." Otto H. Frank, Mirjam Pressler, editors. New York: Doubleday, 1995. The complete diary as Anne Frank meant it to be read. The quietly moving journal of a gifted writer.

Goldhagen, Daniel Jonah. "Hitler's Willing Executioners: Ordinary Germans and the Holocaust." New York: Vintage Books, 1997. A new look at how the Holocaust unfolded, told with brutal candor. An interesting companion to Raul Hilberg's "The Destruction of the European Jews."

Hilberg, Raul. "The Destruction of the European Jews." New York: Harper Colophon Books, 1979. Through documentation, details the paper trail, facts, figures and bureaucracy of mass murder.

Lanzman, Claude. "Shoah: An Oral History of the Holocaust." New York: Pantheon Books, 1985. The complete text of Lanzman's landmark documentary film; preface by Simone De Beauvoir.

Plant, Richard. "The Pink Triangle: The Nazi War Against Homosexuals." New York: Henry Holt and Company, 1986. The first comprehensive study in English on the fate of homosexuals during the Holocaust.

Spiegelman, Art. "Maus: A Survivor's Tale." New York: Pantheon Books, 1986.

--- "Maus II: A Survivor's Tale--And Here My Troubles Begin." New York, Pantheon Books, 1991. Spiegelman's two-volume history of his parents' life in Auschwitz--told in comic book format. Unforgettable and a must-read for any student of the Shoah. Also available in a unique CD-ROM.

Schwarz-Bart, Andre. "The Last of the Just." New York: Antheneum, 1973. An epic work of fiction, linking the Holocaust to Jewish suffering throughout history.

Wiesel, Elie. "Night." New York: Avon Books, 1969. Wiesel's classic memoir of the Shoah.

---"All Rivers Run to the Sea: Memoirs." New York, Alfred A. Knopf, Inc., 1997 The autobiography of the Nobel Prize winner. This volume contains descriptions of dreams Wiesel had of his family who perished in the Shoah.

Reincarnation:


Gershom, Rabbi Yonassan. "Beyond the Ashes: Cases of Reincarnation from the Holocaust." Virginia Beach, A.R.E. Press, 1992. ISBN 87604-340-6. A modern Kabbalist documents encounters with people from all walks of life who have had dreams/flashbacks of being in the Holocaust. Fascinating reading, with good information on Jewish mysticism.
