ACCORDING TO WRITER George Bernard Shaw, "Without art, the crudeness of reality would make the world unbearable." Of course, Montesquieu continues with, "An author... is a fool who, not content with having bored those who have lived with him, insists on tormenting the generations to come."
In either case, it's time for some creative endeavors. I ensure you that what appears here will be capable of tormenting not only you but entire generations to come!

The truth is, we're all closet masochists. It's true. We're addicted to the act of writing, compelled to write by some terrible, agonizing passion. We write not because we WANT to, but because we HAVE to.
Alright, maybe I should speak for myself.
The worst part, in any case, is the perpetual tinkering. My files on my hard drive resemble logs jammed into a river. Even the few stragglers that eventually manage to make shore are often harrassed by changes long after they reach ground.
The ideas that are so clear within the mind's eye never seem to find the equivalent in execution and mere words. There's always a better way to say things, a better way to show things, a better way to express the ideals.
Lady MacBeth's obsession drove her to murder. The urge to write is more socially acceptable than a murderous impulse, but not less overwhelming.

Are our lives mediocre, or can even the most random incident enable us to see our existence in a whole new way? (If not, at least perhaps we can always get a chuckle out of it...)
Is beauty in the eye of the beholder or in an older behind? (Maplethorpe lives! Wa ha ha!) In any case, I've played in a variety of art, from pencil and ink to computer graphics and book design. Crazy enough to look at my pics? Go for it.
