THE GOD OF THE THUNDERBOLT WEARS ALSO THE NAME OF SHANGO (
ESPECIALLY IN NIGERIA STATE ). It IS THE ALONE GOD THAT WAS
KING BEFORE ITS DIVINATION.
THE
GOD OF THE THUNDERBOLT IS ONE THESE WHO AROUSES THE MOST
FEAR IN OUR PANTHEON; AT LEAST AS MUCH THAT THE GOD SAKPATA,
THE SMALLPOX GOD. THAT IS UNDERSTANDS SPOKE WHEN WE
CONSIDERE THE INSTANTANOUS DEATH THAT IT IS SENSIBLE
INFLICTED.
HERE IS
ITS HISTORY
One
tells that the third king that reigned to the center of the
world been
interested in a leaf.
That had the property to
attract the fire of the sky. Some
told that the king amused with this leaf. Others, that it
made
imprudent experiment with
this object. The king finishes by putting the
fire
to its
residence by being devoted to this occupation. The palace
burned. The city burned. The country was devastated by the
fire; and nobody
was capable to extinguish this
fire.
The king lost the dear persons in the catastrophe: its
woman, its children, its
friends
and a great part of the population of the kingdom.
Desperate, the
monarch
pulled the city. It rendered in the forest. There, it hung
to the
tree
that produces the leaf with which it had provoked so
destruction. The
fire of
the sky descended on the king suspended to its tree; it was
struck. It was transformed into Spirit of the thunderbolt;
that that we fear so. Here is the history. "
