TO LOVE

Joshua Johnson, 5 June, 1999

Outside the rain is coming down

I listen to its gentle rhythm

Mesmerized by its steady fall

My eyes become heavy

As my thoughts turn to you

A warm smile crosses my lips

My heart beats heavy

As your name rolls across my tongue

Spoken so gently my own ears cannot hear

Although you are far away

You are here with me

In my heart, my soul

Here close to me

I wrap my arms around you

And carry you out into the rain

I lay your warm body upon the wet ground

Kneeling over you

I gently begin to kiss your wet cheeks

Feeling your warmth next to me

You pull me ever so near

Embracing me in your arms

Passionately we kiss

As our bodies become one

No longer aware of the rain

Or the world that surrounds us

Taken away in our desire

Our wet bodies joined

A sweet loving embrace

As our lovemaking builds

Toward an overwhelming climax

Our bodies begin to tremble

Our passion released

Now as we lie in each others arms

And the rain caresses our skin

Into your eyes I stare

This one chance to say

" I love you"

Before you are once again

Far away from me

And exist only in my dreams
