SOUL'S DESIRE
BY: Joshua J. Johnson, 21 March 1999
My eyes are closed
My breath is slow
The sweet smell of incense fills the night
The empty sound of silence
So loud the only sound
A lonely candle the only light
As its flame dances with the breeze
My mind uplifted
Carried on a bed of clouds
I feel my soul take flight
Every sensation brought to life
With each breath I take
I realize the simplicity of pleasure
Far from myself, I do now lay
Drifting on a bed of clouds
Far from everyday
My mind now opens to my soul
Letting every thought
Flow like words from a well-written book
Things once complicated
Seem now so simplistic
Thoughts once so confusing
Now easily understood
It is here in this state that I find you
My love without a name
The woman of my souls deepest desire
Before me you stand
Dressed in the softest of white
A warm smile across your lips
Bright with compassion
Alive with desire
You speak the words only my soul can hear
Gentle your eyes as you draw me near
Embrace me with your warmth
Hold me ever so near
Your eyes stare deep within me
As our lips meet with ever the softest kiss
Down beside me you lay
Our bodies close
The warmth emanates
Your hands gently caress my face
Pull me to a lover's embrace
Our passion ignites
Every pleasure is defined
My senses brought to life
Our souls stepped outside of us
For the briefest moments
We forget about the loneliness
Forget about the emptiness
Together there in our dreams
And as you slowly begin to fade
You send me a kiss
And a loving wink
I fight back the tears
For I know they are coming
I know in my soul that someday
We shall find each other
You the woman of my souls desire
