SILENT ANTICIPATION

By: Joshua J. Johnson, 26 Jun 99

I wake with each new day

Hoping that this will be the one

Eager to find that you've written

Or that you may call

That once again I may hear you're sweet voice

Silently I anticipate

The next time I'll see your smile

Or hear your laugh

The next time you'll give me that look

The one that say's it all

When I can once again stare into your

Bright beautiful eyes

And tell you how I love you so

My mind knows the day may never come

Yet my heart will not give up hope

My soul craves the connection it once found

My body starved for the passion

That once overwhelmed

Needing you once again

With silent anticipation

I dream this day may be

However,

Silently I lose hope

As the days quickly become weeks

And the weeks turn into months

I know I should move on

But my love will not fade

Lying in bed at night

I often whisper your name

Hoping for you to hear me

Anticipating your answer

And with each new dawn

I once again awake

With a breath of hope

And a sigh of anticipation

Today it just may be the day
