There goes my mind
A silent goodbye to an old friend
Someday may we meet again?
Someday I may feel again
Today I woke up face down
Buried deep within the mud
Wearing nothing but my shame
My body covered in my dirt
Showered in my pain
Today I open my eyes
Look around and see the gray
My heart beats once more
I know I'm alive
For in my veins
Beats the pain of life
Today I know I was wrong
I lick my wounds
Admit my guilt
I stand before you
Covered in the filth
My own shame
Today I beg your forgiveness
I look into your eyes
I could never lie
Lick my wounds
Give me the strength to live
Seal it with a kiss
Wash this dirt from me
Make me clean again
Yours once again
