CHECK! Married to Hannah. This is William Baker settled at Bonavista (not sure if he ever lived at Elliston) . Another William (perhaps a nephew was married to Mary Keats in 1819). BIC Servant 1825 - William Baker Sr. (6 Souls in his household). Died at Elliston, Nfld. A not too reliable family tradition is that William came from Devon and his wife from Cornwall or vice versa. Check William Baker married Feb 16, 1773, Thorncombe, Dorset to Hannah Hitchcock. Witnesses John Miller and William Studley. DMI and IGI. William and Hannah Baker's children at Elliston: Eliz, Hannah, Henry, James, Sarah, William, Ann & Mary. Check for sure William Baker = Elizabeth Wiseman 1768 at Breamore!, Hants Were they William Baker's parents??? Check Fanny Baker (1739-1820), wife of William, died Poole, Dor., in 1820 age 82. She was not the same Mary baptised Trinity. Check baptism at Poole?? Check married 1814 at Bonavista to Thomas Porter. Check for Mary's baptism in England @ Not found Bonavista. Was she a daughter of William and Hannah?
