It�s going to be a busy fall for my whole family. My son Jason has a new job that requires 12-hour shifts�sometimes 5 days a week. The drive is about 45 minutes or so each way. The money seems to be the major attraction. However, he is contemplating graduate school, so who knows what the future will bring?My daughter will be graduating from Hebrew Union College�Jewish Institute of Religion School of Sacred Music in May. She is currently preparing for her senior recital and engaged in the process of interviews for a full-time Cantorial position. We will be attending her recital in April and graduation in May in New York.
Deborah (or Devorah as she likes to be called professionally) was in Tulsa, at Temple Israel, in December for a special concert. I took a video of her solo performance. The piece she is singing is mostly in Yiddish. It is called "A Din Toire Mit Gott," (A lawsuit with God) or "Reb Yitzchak's Kaddish."
Sunday, March 4, 2007�[This would have been my mother�s 101st birthday]
This year it�s also PURIM!Sunday was very busy. First was the Purim Concert and Carnival�But it�s 2007, so they now call it �Festival Purim.� I was there to help with cooking for the Carnival at 9:30 AM. We prepared Borekas (puff pastry filled with a potato and onion mixture), Felafel, and hot dogs for the kids. Then came the Megillah reading followed by a concert. Israeli Vocalist and Songwriter Sam Glaser was the featured entertainer. He was great!

This summer, Estelle and I went to Neuchatel, Switzerland. Great town! I took along my new digital camera--and what do you know? It can take videos! Then after I get back to Tulsa, and go to my office, I find out that my computer has a program on it called "Windows Movie Maker." So, between digital photos, digital movies, music I had on my computer, and that Movie Maker program, I came up with some video presentations of our trip! I've been having a ball!
I also figured how to embed those videos into my journal--so here goes!
