What's the weather like in New Zealand?

By day I'm a freelance translator/editor/quality controller for a range of translation agencies, organisations and individuals worldwide. My main job involves providing translations into English from most Western European languages, and occasionally Japanese.

I'm also sometimes available on weekends to drive for weddings in the Wellington/Hutt Valley region.

I was Secretary of the Royal Numismatic Society of New Zealand Inc. from 1990 to 1997, President from 2003 to 2006, and Editor of its occasional Newsletter from 1995 to 2005. I have been the editor of the New Zealand Numismatic Journal since 2000. Anyone with an interest in new issues from New Zealand can check the NZ Post homepage for details.

Among my numismatic interests is German Notgeld - metal, rather than paper. Readers with an interest in the paper variety should visit Richard's Notgeld Page to find out more about this fascinating study in itself.

My leisure pursuits include an abiding interest in The Goon Show. I used to hear repeats of these marvellous 1950s broadcasts on National Radio in New Zealand as a child, and became hooked when I saw the Last Goon Show of All on TV in 1972. A useful web site is The Goon Show Archive. I would love to hear about any more! E-mail me with any details. Don't forget to delete the "antispam" part of the address first!

I'm also a member of the Armstrong Siddeley Car Club in New Zealand Inc. This doesn't have a web page of its own, but can be contacted by snail-mail at P.O. Box 5219, Lambton Quay, Wellington.

Yahoogroups now has an Armstrong Siddeley Mailing List!
