If he only knew how my thoughts fly to him
During the morning, as the dark and grim
Passage of night runs from the golden glow.
If he only knew, how much I love him so.
If he only could hear the sound of my heart beat
In a bolero of delighted tunes. To find it replete
With only notes of him. Would he then know
How sweet in the canticle of him I do flow?
If he only knew how my affections do ascend
And climb to the heavens peaks, yet to him I'd bend
And bow my head. Just to view his countenance fine.
If he should ever accept the soulful offers of mine...
If only he could grasp the expanse of my notions
Embroiled within the chords of his vast oceans
Of symphonic harmony. To pluck that dulcet intonation.
If he only could know my hearts contemplation.
If only he would know that every breath I take
Drawing into my very soul, it is the me I do make,
Fraught with the very essence of him. He is I.
If only he would know, no words he'd decry.
If only he knew that he is my universal truth;
My every waking rule and passion, my lost youth
Spent and frittered away. Now abounding with dreams.
If only he knew that love is ever what it seems.
If only he knew...that these words only to him I speak.
If only he knew...would his knee's turn soft and weak
And would he rush to my side, and take my hand....
And If only he knew...Our salvation we'd command.
