FRIENDS and FRIENDSHIP

What is Friendship?

Friendship

Ponder long life's ribbon'd length;
A yard or two tis measured
For when in time we draw our strength;
A Friendship is what's treasured.

A bolt of silk or satin sheen;
Tis the fabric of our hope.
Woven threads of memories keen;
A tailored kaleidoscope.

Gingham, taffeta, Cotton and lace;
The pattern's upon the table.
‘Neath each piece you see the face,
Recollections from many a fable.

Buttons and bows, and snaps and such
Stuff, to sew and fix and finally mend.
Use these items with a tender touch
For together they make a "Friend".
