Forbidden Fruit
Forbidden Fruit
I know now how Adam felt
The first time he laid eyes
Upon the forbidden fruit
It looked so luscious, so promising
It looked so much better
Than the life he had lived
The fruit held hope for a new future
It contained all his dreams
But he could not touch
I know now that I ripped his heart out
To know that he could never have
What he so desired
It must have driven him insane
To want it so badly
Yet know he could never have it
He finally found something he could truly want
Want with everything he was
Still, it stayed just out of his reach
Yes, I know now how Adam felt
For I feel that way about you
My sweet, sweet Forbidden Fruit
