each other and in a walking distance from the Arktikum House.


HOTELS IN HELSINKI

For those who might need a hotel in Helsinki in connection with the arrival or return, 
we have prebooked some rooms at Hotel Vaakuna, Hotel Radisson SAS Hesperia and 
Hotel Inter Continental for the nights 11. - 14.9.1998 and 16. - 18.9.1998. 
hese three hotels are situated in the centre of Helsinki and are served with buses 
to and from Helsinki-Vantaa airport.


At Hotel Vaakuna a single room costs FIM 655/night (friday to sunday FIM 480/night)
and a double room FIM 840/night (fri-sun FIM 580/night). At Hotel Radisson SAS Hesperia 
a single room costs FIM 765/night (fri-sun FIM 475/night) and a double room
FIM 765/night (fri-sun FIM 575/night). At Hotel Inter Continental a single room
costs FIM 780/night (fri-sun FIM 575/night) and a double room FIM 920/night
(fri-sun FIM 675/night). (1 USD = 5.36 FIM 26.5.1998) If you wish to use some of the
prebooked rooms at these hotels, please book as soon as possible but latest 11.8.1998. 
After that our prebooking is no longer valid. At Hotel Vaakuna and Hotel Inter Continental 
our prebooked quota is called "Arctic Conference", at
Hotel Radisson SAS Hesperia it is "Arctic" for Arctic Conference.
While making your reservation  you should mention the name of the quota
and the prebooker, which is Ministry of Education. 
 
You can also choose other hotels in Helsinki. We are enclosing a list of hotels which can be
booked through the Hotel Booking Centre or directly. Direct telephone numbers to most of the
hotels can be found on page 15 of the enclosed broschure "Welcome to Helsinki". 

The Ministry of Education does not take any responsibility for reservations or cancellations 
of these rooms, but is ready to assist you making reservations for the above-mentioned or other 
hotels if you wish.
