According to the Chinese lunar calendar, I was born in the Year of the Rooster.
Although I don't put much stock in astrology, the following description of "rooster people"
found on a birthday card seems to fit me pretty well, so I share it here.

TRAITS OF ROOSTERS: Perfectionist, conservative, direct, bossy, optimistic, sociable.

CHARACTERISTICS OF ROOSTERS: The Rooster is a dreamer, imagining fame and fortune. The Rooster's dreams are a motivating force, and being a perfectionist, he/she is capable of great success so long as thoughts are put into practice. Roosters excel in an ability to work hard, once they decide to do so, and they will do this for the sake of others. They have a single-minded approach that pays off. They are careful with money, and work well as organizers or administrators. They stick at things whatever the difficulties. This is one of their most admirable qualities; it means they are enduring friends and will always be there for you. A Rooster is practical and a concrete thinker. They can be argumentative with a street-fighting temperament. Their lack of diplomacy is one cause of strife, and they need to learn to think before they speak. However, they are loved for their optimism and good humor.

WHO IS A ROOSTER: You were born in the Year of the Rooster if your birthday falls between any of the following dates:
