A Modern Love Poem

Pale is the color of my true love's lips;
grayish-brown is the color of her hair.
Her eyes are as green as asparagus tips,
and her face is freckled beyond compare.

My love often snores throughout the night
or holds conversations in her sleep.
Sometimes she acts out her dreams of flight
or explorations of the oceans deep.

My love refuses to wear cosmetics,
silk, or leather; to drink milk or eat meat.
She cleans all our things with antiseptics
and constantly scolds me for eating sweets.

My love drives me crazy with her little ways,
but still I will love her for all my days.
