The Israeli Community

[Dancing] The third and final sizable Jewish Community in Singapore is the Israeli Expatriates. The Israelis are numerically the largest community. They participate in many of the cultural activities sponsored by the UHC and Maghain Aboth communities during the year. Most are business people here with their families, which means the community, much like the UHC community is always changing and growing. The Israelis add an extra flair to the thriving and active Jewish community of the island, adding their own festive color and spirit.

[Feasting and Jolity]
There are close ties between the governments of Singapore and Israel, which include healthy diplomatic and trade relations. Indeed, the two nations often engage in joint military training exercises. Tragically, however, falafel has not yet found its place amongst the Singaporean Hawker stalls.
