Pertinent Information
After graduating from Lorain High, I started college at Ohio University. Left for the US Navy in August of 1943. Served in the Navy in the Pacific and was discharged in 1946. Went back to Ohio University that year. In 1949, I graduated from OU and got married. With three of my brothers, we operated the C.M. Doane Elcetric Company at 1150 West 14th Street in Lorain. Retired in 1985. I got very active in the founding of the Black River Historical Society of Lorain. The society is located in the Moore Home on the corner of 5th Street and Reid Avenue. We have a wonderful collection of pictures and histories of the city growing to what it is today. I also had desire of sailing boats on Lake Erie, which was in our backyard.
