Genie

An online public access catalog from which you can access Northwestern’s book holdings as well as book holdings for other university libraries around the state. Genie may be searched by author, title, key word or Library of Congress subject heading. Approximately 60% of Northwestern’s holdings are represented in this catalog including all holdings 1995-Present. For material older than 1995, also consult the card catalog.

LOUIS Databases

A group of indices to periodical literature available to all libraries in the LOUIS consortium. These databases may also be searched by author, title, key word or Library of Congress subject heading. These databases include MLA Modern Language Association International Bibliography 1963-August 1997 and READ Reader’s Guide to Periodical Literature 1983-July 1997

IAC Searchbank

A group of indices to periodical and newspaper literature in a variety of fields of study. This database includes full text of some of the articles indexed. In IAC it is possible to search using the subject guide or a key word. Try both methods using the terms below and note the differences in your results and how they are presented.
