Commander Duncan Lassiter is a 48 year old Terran male born in San Francisco, Earth to Constantine Lassiter, an antiques dealer and Alita Siobhran, a flower shop owner. He has three brothers, Abjeer, 43 years old, Munaf, 39 and James, 36.
Duncan grew up next to Starfleet Academy and has always wanted to become a Starfleet Officer. He worked very hard while at the Academy, although his studies didn't come easy. He was studying all the time and rarely had time for a social life.
He has served on several Deep Space Stations and Starbases in his career. Although he wanted an assignment on a starship, his lack of alien social skills has held him back and while he has served aboard two starships, it was only on a temporary basis.
He was assigned to Starbase 114 after Admiral Sporak, a Vulcan, retired. While this was supposed to be a temporary assignment, Lassiter has done a tremendous job in the two years he has been Commander and Starfleet has only recently made the assignment permanent. Duncan has resigned himself to the fact that he will never command a starship and works hard on the starbase.
Duncan waited until he was 38 years old to marry. He married Lt. Aubry McCall 10 years ago and is devoted to her. She was 23 at the time and on her way up the ladder and is now the Security Chief aboard the USS Akagi.
While Duncan is in love with his wife, she never return his affections and only married him to further her career. He and his wife, Aubrey have recently divorced.
Although amiable, he does not socialize much, preferring instead to spend his time working.
He is a lonely man who can be seen walking the starbase at all hours of the day or night.
He was promoted to Captain in 2382.
