Vehicles

There are thousands of forms of transportation.  The following is a list of just a few:

Private Submarine (PL6)
Due to the colonization of several water worlds, as well as extensive use of undersea colonization domes on terran worlds, private submarines were created.  These are smaller than military subs, can carry six man-sized people, and have an air supply for all six people that will last 12 hours (longer if there are fewer passengers).  Despite the name, not many private individuals own these.  Instead, companies buy them for use in a variety of tasks on ocean worlds (including surveying, construction, and recon).

Recon Helicopter (PL6)
A much faster version of the normal helicopter, this one is used almost solely for scanning terrain, searching for criminals, and rescue missions.  It almost always carries a light armament of some type, as well as decent armoring.  Some are also equipped with radar jamming devices.  It can carry up to ten people, and can travel 800km before needing to refuel.

Landspeeder (PL7)
Landspeeders are the 25th century's equivalent of sports cars.  Although not capable of flight like the popular skycar, the landspeeder is still a popular item, especially among the young (or those going through a mid-life crisis).  They use a gravitic generator to hover about 18" off the ground, avoiding bumps and such.  It resembles a car, but no wheels (and almost all models are convertables).  The average model is only able to carry two people safely, sacrificing the rest of its space for engine room.  It can travel 400km on a load of fuel.

Off-Road Land Rover (PL7)
The explorer's vehicle, this ten ton monstrosity can carry six people over 1000km of terrain before needing to recharge its batteries.  Most models have six wheels (although some have eight), roughly 6' in diameter.  With these, this vehicle can scale most terrain with no sweat.  For an extra 10K, the ORLR will come with a gravitic generator installed, allowing for flight (albeit clumsy flight) for up to ten minutes per 12 hours.  This function is used mostly to quickly cross small canyons, or get over other dangerous obstacles.
