The following is a listing of some of the unique ship systems of the VoidRunner universe.
 
 

Warp Drive:  The VoidRunner warp drive is slightly different from the warp drive presented in the StarShips Alternity supplement.  Warp drives are fueled by a regenerating thorium matrix built into the drive included in the cost.  Warp drives do not draw on power from mass reactors or other power sources on board the vessel.  Modern warp drives can go as fast as 8LY/10 hours, but slower models can still be purchased at reduced prices.  The VoidRunner warp drive does have a weakness though.  It is confounded by gravity fields (that generated by planets, stars, or certain artificial sources).  It cannot bring a ship out of warp, or even enter warp while within 10AU of a star, 2AU of an average gas giant, or 0.5AU of an average planet.  A warp drive also has a recharge time.  Although the course may be changed while in warp, once a ship drops out of warp it should wait 1 hour minimum before attempting to enter warp again.  If the ship tries to enter warp before this cool down period has ended, the results are as follows:  40% chance nothing happens and ship must wait an additional hour before another attempt is made, 30% chance warp succeeds despite hasty entrance, or 30% drive explodes, doing d6+1m damage to its compartment and d4m to d4 others.  This problem can only be overcome by placing 2 or more warp drives in a ship, one for entry, one for a fast exit.

Gravitic Nullifier:  A gravitic nullifier helps solve the problem of gravity fields affecting a warp drive.  A ship equiped with a gravitic nullifier can warp into orbit of a planet, within 1AU of an average gas giant, and within 7AU of a star.  A gravitic nullifier provides a +2 bonus to armor when defending against graviton torpedos.

Tzo Reactor:  The tzo reactor is an extremely rare piece of hardware almost never found outside of military research departments, let alone on board a ship (and certainly not a civilian one).  It's powered by one of the most rare commodities in existence: tzo crystal.  Tzo crystals, found only on three League worlds (in sparse quantities) can channel a tremendos amount of energy when properly installed in a specialized reactor.  It isn't fully understood how the process works, but that hasn't stopped scientists from building a few of these devices.
