Description: The Jendevi are
humanoid, possessing two arms and legs. They are gaunt (even moreso
than the fraal), standing between 8-9' tall, but weighing a mere 100 kgs.
Their light brown skin is covered in a thin brownish fur, although it by
itself is not sufficient to protect them from cold below that which an
average human could survive. Their faces appear similar to humans,
with two bright yellow eyes, a sunken nose, two ears, and a mouth, all
positiioned the same way as on a human face. Jendevi wear few clothes,
usually a tunic and nothing more. Jendevi live for roughly 80 years.
History: The jendevi originated on the rugged world of Karatakas. It is a low-gravity world (only about 0.75 Gs), with gigantic mountain ranges, trees thousands of feet high, rough oceans, and fierce storms.
Jendevi history is not colourful or exciting.... at least to anyone but a jendevi. History was recorded through stories, passed down through generations by story-tellers. The jendevi had no wars, as resources were plentiful, but knew death well. As the jendevi began to spread across their world, pioneers were often killed by storms at sea, or by avalanches, or many other natural disasters. However, the jendevi were a resilient, stubborn people and would not let nature get the best of them. They continued to expand, and many died. The ones who made it however, the ones who climbed the mountains or sailed the seas, became greatly respected. As a result of hundreds of years of this mentality, the jendevi have become a race of dare-devils and explorers.
After nearly a thousand years of expansion, the jendevi covered their globe. And as they began to look for new challanges, the kybus landed on their world and made them an offer they couldn't refuse. The kybus said, simply put, become our scouts or our slaves. The jendevi jumped at the chance to sail freely through the stars and explore, and now serve in the Union of Klorr as scouts, finding new worlds to tame.
Culture and Psychology: Because of hundreds of years of taming their homeworld, the jendevi are natural dare-devils and explorers. They wish to see what's out there and prove that they can overcome it. This is not to say that they are stupid. A jendevi won't plunge headlong into certain death. They will consider all possibilities of a situation, look at what has been done before and failed, then come up with a logical (in their minds) solution to the problem.
As for their mentality, they are definately adventurous, and in many ways naive. Most of them don't understand why sentients would kill other sentients, although with their close relations with the brutal kybus, many are becoming hardened in this way. They also tend to believe whatever they are told, as on their homeworld they had no reason to lie to each other. This makes them a target for every fast talking kar'soran merchant they come across. Finally, jendevi are godless, making them that much more suited to the kybus' needs.

Jendevi can be all classes, but are most frequently Free Agent explorers (or more rarely, spies). Diplomats and Tech Ops are rare, but do exist, and Combat Specs are rarer still, but a select few take on this profession. The jendevi can develop psionics, but are highly "discouraged" from doing so by the kybus.
