Act of Creation:  the ritual Akaren term for a pregnant woman.

ah'shret: the collective term for the sheep-like mammals of the Akaren desert, whose wool provides the raw material for tikrah cloth. Ah'shret are used also as beasts of burden, but their meat is banned in some clans from being eaten by the Akaren, as it is sacred to Kinshaet. However, in other clans such as the Akaren of Khiret, ah'shret meat is considered a delicacy.

Aliset: the semi-mythological leader of the Akaren who lead the escape of the Akaren from the Declared (later Rihannsu) in the days shortly before the Sundering. There actually was a historical Aliset, the daughter of a petty mindlord who was sold into the clan of akhar'et. It is not clear whether any of the mystical abilities attributed to her actually existed, but Aliset's strength and courage in the difficult days before, during, and after the Sundering have led to her semi-divine status among the Akaren as a protectress of those who travel on the desert.

The term has, for obvious reasons, fallen out of use among Vulcans, but remains active among the Akaren, although its meaning is somewhat different.

a'qeli: a type of Akaren flat-bread. Known to Vulcans t'rellsk, is made from tikh and boiled qir'lal root, both baked together. On its own, a'qeli does not have much flavor, but is used among the Akaren with a variety of spreads including, in once recent innovation, chocolate sauce.
