The Nitrobots Chapter II
The Nitrobots

Chapter 2 The Voyage
I looked up from my first officer’s control panel, and saw the black of space through the viewscreen, I saw Mirage and Sideswipe in the pilots chairs,
and to my left was Prowl who was in the captain’s chair. He turned to me and asked,
"So, how’s it feel to finally get off of Cybertron?"
I replied with enthusiasm,
"Great! I have been on Cybertron since Unicron was destroyed."
"Must feel good to finally get out somewhere, although where were going it isn’t that exciting."
"Where are we going, all I was told was that it was a Energon run, and I kind of question that this is routine seeing as we have 10 Autobots on board."
Prowl answered,
"This is an energon pickup but that is our secondary mission, we picked up some low level beta radiation at TRC-981 which only comes from Arcalian Ore which is very rich in energon."
"Yeah, but why 10 of us?"
Prowl continued,
"We’ll I kind of thought Optimus was being a bit excessive sending us in with a battle modified cargo shuttle and not a science vessel, but he said with all the Decepticon activity lately there could be a Decep threat in that area."
"Yeah I guess it’s better safe than sorry. "
Prowl nodded. I returned to my monitor.
A silence had built up in the command center after our conversation. Suddenly Hound’s science station computer beeped and broke the dead air that had developed. Hound said with a little distress in his voice,
"Ummm, Prowl I think you should take a look at this." Prowl walked over to the science station,
"What is it Hound?"
"It appears there’s some gamma particles here that we didn’t detect earlier, they are going to block our communications to Cybertron and will even distort the intercoms on the ship." There was another moment of silence, Mirage looked back at the two Autobots. Prowl commanded,
"Well I guess we’ll just keep going, a little Gamma dust never hurt anybody,"
Prowl walked up to the pilots and said quietly,
"Accelerate to max speed." Mirage nodded and pressed some buttons. Prowl returned to his command chair. I could see something was bothering him, I had a bad feeling about TRC-981
