Eros of Titan is suddenly awakened by a klaxon warning , intermixed with Isaac, (the computer
support system of Titans ) Verbal warnings
Eros : "Wha ? What are we under attack ?
Panel 2
Eros, now fully dressed, flies down a long hallway, met by his father, mentor
Mentor : "We have a problem my son."
Eros: "I see that father, anything you'd care to tell me about ?"
Panel 3
Elysius as well as Moondragon join them as all four race towards the surface hatch
Elysius : "Mentor, it's Thanos again isn't it ? "
Mentor : "I have no way of knowing my child. Isaac could only determine a major surface
disturbance before his scanning systems were burnt out."
Panel 4
Moondragon : "I have contacted my father* telepathically, he is out beyond the edge of this solar
system, and it will take him some time to bring his considerable might here, several hours at
least."
* Moondragon (Heather Douglas) is the daughter of Drax the destroyer
Eros :" Then we'll have to make do without him fair Heather."

Eros: "Won't we....Wha ? Mar-Vell ?"
There floating in the air before them, above an exploded grave site and surrounded by a nimbus
of glowing photonic energy , his arms stretched out to both sides, face staring straight ahead and
blank eyed is Captain Marvel, Protector of the universe entire !

Eros flies to him, as the hero collapses upon himself, Eros grabbing him and helping him down
gently.
Mar-Vell : ( Weakly) "Er-os? Where --am- I ? What?"
Eros : "Relax my friend I don't know what is happening here, but someone has performed a
miracle today."
And invisible to all eyes assembled, the Titanian God Chronos smiles.
Later ....
Isaac in humanoid form speaks
Isaac : "It seems your body did in fact die, but your Nega bands had imparted a suspended
animation effect on you at the moment of your death. Holding you in stasis between this world
and the next until your body could heal itself."
Mar-Vell :"( Gravelly voiced ) " Yes , Isaac, but why did it take so long. It's been almost six
years since I died, according to Mentor."

Isaac: "It seems that some time ago your original Nega Bands were stolen by the Kree Captain
Atlas and the woman Dr. Minerva. When this event occurred, your healing process was
interrupted and thus took far longer to complete."
Mar-Vell rubs his chin in thought.
Mar-Vell : "Hhhmm, Minerva I know, but Atlas ? The name is not familiar. Perhaps later I will
use my cosmic awareness to track them down."
Elysius enters the hospital room.
Elysius : "You'll do no such thing Mar-Vell, you'll do nothing but rest for now. I've missed you
so ."
She hugs him , and he returns the warm embrace.
Elysius : "Isaac, please leave us."
Isaac : "As you wish."
Wordlessly he turns and leaves
Elysius : "I have someone here to meet you my husband ."
Mar-Vell : "Who ?"

In the door walks Genis-Vell , the man known as Legacy to some, to others as Captain Marvel.
Suddenly Mar-Vells cosmic awareness kicks in as he scans the man in front of him.
Mar-Vell (Smiling) : "Hello my........son."
Genis : "My father, I never imagined meeting you, never."
Genis joins the embrace as we fade out on the reunited family.
Cut to deep space. An asteroid with a hollow core revolves around a blazing Sun. Inside the
hollow core we see workers building and outfitting various ships.
A large man surveys the goings on from an office above the workers. Another man enters and
speaks to him.
Nameless man : "Excuse me sir, I beg your forgiveness, but tactical reports from the cloaked
robotic sensors we placed around Titan have confirmed your greatest fears. Captain Mar-Vell
has returned from the seeming dead."

The Large man spins, coming fully into the light .
Large man : "First Den-Leb, I fear nothing and no one, be they dead or alive. Second this may be
to our advantage, not our regret. We will use every opportunity afforded us to return Hala to its
place amongst the stars, so swears Ronan the Accuser !"
Back to Titan, a verdant meadow where Elysius, and Mar-Vell sit. A month has passed since we
last saw them.
Elysius : "Words cannot possibly explain my feelings at this point Mar-Vell. To have you
returned after so long a time, is a blessing beyond compare."
Mar-Vell :" Yes my darling. I am still amazed at all you've told me. The Kree empire no more ?
That amazes me beyond comprehension, and yet other things as well. A youth named Quasar is
now my successor as Universal protector and because of that, where does that leave me ? A son
who didn't exist before my death, that in and of itself is a miracle. I caught up with many things
on the holo recordings Isaac showed me. Warlock is also back hale and hearty I see, as well as
Mighty Drax. "
Elysius: "Yes, and as you saw first hand he's more intelligent and resourceful then ever."
Mar-Vell : "Yes, I see that."

Mar-Vell stands and stretches his limbs .
Elysius : "How do you feel Mar ? Any side effects or lingering pains ? "
Mar-Vell : ( With a smile )"You ask me that at least 20 times a day, you know that don't you ?"
Elysius: " And I'll ask you twenty times more if I must dear husband. How about for once you
grant me an answer ? "
Mar-Vell looks at her whimsically, smiling.

Mar-Vell: "I feel better then I can ever remember feeling. I've turned my cosmic awareness
inwards and have found no trace of the cancer that once ravaged me. In fact according to Mentor
and Isaacs' constant probing I am now stronger than I've ever been as well as seemingly
immortal."
Elysius : "Immortal ? But that means ..."
Marv embraces her
Mar-Vell : " Hush my love, the world is now never ending for us both, you an eternal of Titan ,
myself a unique being in the cosmos."
Eros flies over the horizon towards the couple. A huge smile across his face.

Eros : "Greetings my friends. You have visitors arriving from Earth."
Elysius : "Visitors Eros ?"
Mar-Vell concentrates momentarily , his face reflecting the cosmos.
Mar-Vell : "Yes, the Avengers, The Fantastic Four, as well as Spider-Man, the Hulk and the
X-Men. I also sense the Silver Surfer arriving soon from deep space."
Eros : "When last all these great heroes were here, it was for the sad fact of your death. This time
it will be a celebration of your life ! "
Elysius : " A party Eros ? And you didn't inform us ?"

Eros : "Well, I didn't want to spoil it for you both. It was to be a surprise."
Mar-Vell : "Well I do appreciate the effort made my friend, but it is a little hard to keep secrets
from someone who is aware."
Eros : "You knew ?"
Mar-Vell: "Yes, for some time. But the thought is what counts . You and Mentor are like family
to us both, and we appreciate everything you've done for us."
Eros : "Well then it's time for another surprise."
Eros pulls a small bag out from his uniforms pocket and reveals....
Elysius : "Nega Bands ! "

Eros: "Yes, Mentor created another pair, just like Genis' pair. They are an exact duplicate of your
original set."
Mar-Vell places them on his wrists and instantly they shrink to size.
Mar-Vell : "Yes ! Now I feel whole again!"
With a thought he races skyward towards Titans space gate. Halfway there he concentrates on
the Nega bands, and they recreate his uniform from the clothes he was wearing.
Mar-Vell : ( the freedom of true flight , I'd forgotten the thrill this gives me . I think I'll find my
friends before they arrive here and greet them)
With a whoosh of Photonic energy Captain Marvel heads towards Earth, en route to meet his
Earth born friends.

Hours later....
The party on Titan is winding down, the guests are shown to their rooms for the most part as
several continue to speak to Mar-Vell about his death experience. They are Dr Strange, Silver
Surfer, Eros, and Mr fantastic
Dr Strange : "And you say you remember Thanos coming to you twice Mar-Vell ?"
Mar-Vell :"Yes Doctor. He came to me first very vividly as I fought him with all my power to
stave off deaths hand, but eventually I succumbed. The I remember seeing him again, this time I
was sure we were both alive, he was holding a gem similar to Warlocks."
Silver Surfer : "Yes Captain, that would be the reality Gem he wielded as the Infinity Watches
hidden member."
Mar-Vell : " Infinity watch ? Wait let me..."
Mar-Vell once more activates his cosmic awareness, this time probing the Surfers being, sifting
and absorbing knowledge until he has all the answers he seeks.
Mar-Vell : "I see now. There was a war, over a Gauntlet that controlled all of reality on every
level. Once more the dread Titan was defeated I see. The several other skirmishes, resulting in
Thanos' retirement to become a simple farmer. Surfer, forgive my way of asking this, no
disrespect is meant, but how could you have believed him ???"

Surfer : "Well I probed him with my own cosmic senses, while not as exacting as your own they
are nonetheless trustworthy."
Mar-Vell : "I....see. And no one knows of the Mad Titans current whereabouts? "
Eros : "The last I heard of my mad brother was some sort of attack on Earths savage Land that
culminated with all vegetation in the Galaxy suddenly growing at an alarming rate."
Mr Fantastic : "Yes, I spoke to Ka-Zar concerning this Mar-Vell. He is the one who stopped the
Mad gods plans. Amazingly he did so without either his wife Shanna or himself getting killed. "\
Mar-Vell : "Incredible. A man with no super powers whatsoever, taking down the lover of
galactic death. Great Pama, what a battle that must've been."
Surfer : "I can only imagine myself my friend. I've fallen to Mad Thanos' power myself. This is
what makes that battle all the more incongruous to me. I feel there must be more to this story
then we all know."
Mar-Vell : "Yes Norrin* I agree. There's more here then meets the eye, and Thanos may have
purposely failed in this endeavor to hide a far more treacherous scheme."
*Surfers real name is Norrin Radd of the long dead world Zenn-La

Just then Genis enters the room
Genis : "Dad I-- Surfer ! Hello, how are you? Man it's been a while buddy . These other guys I
don't really know , except by rep. I'm Mar-Vells son, Genis. But you can call me Legacy !"
Surfer : "I see my young friend you've taken back your old code name eh?"
Genis :" Yes Surfer, I really had no desire to start calling myself "Captain Marvel Jr." or
something else as silly."
Mar-Vell : "Well Genis whatever you decide to call yourself I would rather you stayed on Titan a
while and continued your martial training with Moondragon. Her hand to hand prowess is
second to mine, but only just."
Genis : "Whatever you want dad, actually I think you're right on this too."
Mar-Vell : "What did you want to ask me son ? "

Genis : "Well father, Mentor sent me to ask you about something a long range scan of the Aolyus
cluster have revealed. It looks like a tear in local space/time."
Mar-Vell immediately heads towards Mentors control area , the others in tow.
Surfer : "What do you think my friend ? "
Mar-Vell : "I think this is something bad, and I want to see Mentors diagnostics before I probe
the area from a close range."
Dr. Strange : " I could take us through a dimensional corridor to that prescribed area , the
journey would be much shorter then a direct route through our space."
Mar-Vell : "No Doctor, I prefer to make my own way there. Norrin, would you care to join me?"
Surfer : "Of course my friend. Let us leave immediately."
Mr Fantastic : "I'll remain here and keep an eye on this phenomenon working in conjunction with
Mentor. His equipment is fascinating."
Genis : "Dad, do you want me to come with you on this one ? "
Mar-Vell : "No Genis, you stay here and if we need you , I'll contact you via the Nega bands."

Surfer and Mar-Vell race away from titan , opening a warp space breach once free of the planets
gravity well the two cosmic guardians soar towards destiny
Surfer : " Your powers seem to be all in working order Mar-Vell. How do you feel ?"
Mar-Vell :( With a smile) "Like I've been answering that question for over a month now Norrin.
Actually I feel great ! According to Mentor tests my strength is now greater then it was before. I
can now lift somewhere around 75 tons and when I augment my strength with the Nega bands ,
well my strength is actually in your range somewhere."
Surfer : "Amazing. It seems your body , in fighting the cancer has become stronger and more
resilient."
Mar-Vell : "Yes Norrin, and it seems my abilities are at a level of efficiency they've never before
been."
Surfer : "I am happy for you my friend. I wonder.... We should actually contact Quasar , the
current Universal protector. I know he's busy elsewhere in the Galaxy at the moment, but his
presence might be of use to us."

The two emerge from the warp breach into a star system in chaos. Worlds seem to distort and
pull, as if being sucked into the space/time breach.
Mar-Vell : "We must stop this Surfer. Can you use your power cosmic to effect that breach? "
Surfer : " I can try. "
Surfer fires his power cosmic , manipulating the fabric of space itself, trying to reconfigure the
huge breach before them
Surfer : "No Mar-Vell, I cannot. Perhaps..."
Mar-Vell : "Perhaps I can add my Nega bands power to yours, fueled by the power of that nearby
star and together we can end this madness."
Captain Marvel ads to the Silver Surfers power, augmenting both their strengths with photonic
power.

Mar-Vell : "No good Surfer. Whatever is causing this is matching our efforts from the other side
of that breach."
Surfer : "I know. What's our next option here? Going through the breach ?"
Mar-Vell: " Yes Surfer. All answers are on the other side of that swirling cosmic miasma."
Without another word the two cosmic heros fly into the cosmic breach, instantly all sense of
direction is lost as they both are spun backwards and around in ever maddening patterns.
Mar-Vell : "Surfer, follow me ! My cosmic awareness will lead us to the other side of this
maddening region of null space."
Surfer nods and follows Mar-Vells lead. They follow insane pathways and swirling tunnels
until...

Mar-Vell : "We're through !"
A strange planet scape surrounds them as they fly over desolate fields and empty ramshackle
buildings
Surfer : "Yes Captain, but where ?"
Mar-Vell : "I don't know Surfer. I feel I've been here before, but again, I'm not sure."
Surfer : "My own senses reveal nothing of use to us here Mar-Vell."
Mar-Vell :"Yes, I feel....wait , beware, we are being attacked !"
Suddenly a veritable legion of warriors attack the two heroes. Flying in wearing rocket packs and
brandishing blaster rifles wave upon wave of hardened soldiers attack.
Mar-Vell sweeps the area in front of them both with a photon blast, scattering the soldiers.

Surfer : "I'll transmute their own garb into shackles to restrain them, this way we can find the
source of this nightmare."
Mar-Vell : "Good idea Norrin. This will save us some much needed time."
Surfer blasts all the converging troops, but...
Surfer : "By Galactus' hunger ! They are somehow shielded from my power cosmics
transmutative effect."
Mar-Vell blasts a contingent of troops off the ground with a devastating pulse of photon beams.
Then Mar-Vell dives into the attack, scattering the frenzied troops with his powerful fists.
Mar-Vell: "Then Fight on Silver Surfer . Fight until we both drop if need be."
Off panel voice : "That may well be necessary old foe ."
Mar-Vell Turns
Mar-Vell : "You !"
dark figure : "Yes my enemy, when you saw a dimensional breach, who did you expect but ..."
He steps into the light
dark Figure: "Mercurio the 4 D man !"

Mar-Vell : "I should've realized it was you Mercurio, but our last battle was so short that I never
assumed you to be more than a passing threat at best."
Mercurio : "That is your mistake Captain Marvel. You would do well never to underestimate the
4D mans power."
Suddenly Mercurio fires blasts of cosmic heat at Mar-Vell and stellar cold at the Surfer, giving
them both pause.
Surfer : "This won't stop me Mercurio, I live in the absolute cold of space. Stop this madness and
shut down whatever dimension spanning device you are using. Against our combined power you
stand little chance."
Mercurio : "Fool , I did not expect Captain Marvel to try to thwart me this time. I may have been
unprepared, but I will still take the day."

Mar-Vell swoops up and away from the battle and , avoiding Mercurios two fold attack of heat
and cold , he slams the conqueror with a devastating right, knocking him back a hundred feet."
Mar-Vell : "Surfer, find the source of the dimensional breach and destroy it. I'll hold them all off
here."
Surfer : " Good luck my friend."
With that the Surfer is gone, using his own cosmic senses to track the weapon to it's source.
Mar-Vell battles on, as wave upon wave of Mercurios troops attack him.
Mar-Vell : ( This is getting me nowhere, I've been fighting with my heart, instead of my head.
Reveling in the joy of battle. Once again I've acted as a warrior, instead of a protector. That ends
now.)
Captain Marvel relaxes momentarily, letting his Cosmic awareness flow through him and out to
the world surrounding him. And suddenly he knows.

Mar-Vell races past Mercurio and quickly away to the desolated fields he and the Surfer first
saw upon entering this strange world. Flying to a certain spot he unleashes an incredible blast of
Photon beams and just as suddenly the image of those devastated fields shimmers before his
eyes. But he's not using his eyes at this time. He's using an inner sense that is telling where to
strike, and when.
BA-Room!
The illusion is gone, replaced by the truth of...
Mar-Vell : "There ! The generator of all this madness. A cosmic null engine. A device outlawed
by the Kree empire more then a millennia ago for it's destructive potential. I don't know how
Mercurio came to be in possession of one, but he'll keep it no longer !"
Mar-Vell fires a massive photon blast that incinerates the device, atomizing it instantly.
The Surfer returns

Surfer : "I saw the explosion my friend and returned here as quickly as I could. I found no
device, no matter how I searched. His troops did everything in their power to hinder my mission,
and once this device detonated they and their leader leaped through a personal aperture to their
homeworld, and the aperture closed behind them before I could stop their escape."
Mar-Vell :" Explanations are unnecessary Norrin. We succeeded in our mission here , stopping
their attacks on our galaxy and dimension. But I wonder how they acquired a long unused Kree
weapon."
Surfer: ( As he begins to manipulate space/time, recreating the breach that brought them both
here) " I would assume when the Kree empire fell many such devices were made away with by
unworthy parties."
Mar-Vell : "True, I had not considered that angle. To think the Supreme intelligence destroyed,
the Kree homeworld and all its galaxies now part of the Shi'ar empire. Great Pama, it stuns me to
think of this."
They enter our space
Surfer : "I know Captain, but the universe is an always changing place, as we both know."
Mar-Vell smiles, inwardly thinking of his own situation
Mar-Vell : "That it is my friend, that it is."
