His father was the greatest of Heroes, saving the entire universe
from subjugation time and time again! Now he must continue that tradition , his
powers are the same, but his outlook is different. He wields the mighty Nega bands and has
the Celestial insight of Cosmic Awareness. The universe is his inheritance, for he is its
Protector as he struggles to find his place amidst the Heavens, his buds call him Genis,
but he's known and feared by his enemies as....
"GET OUTTA MY WAY YOU RUNT!" Screams the Rampagin' Rhino
Before him, and floating two feet off the ground, with his arms crossed across his
chest, and surrounded by a nimbus of golden photon energy is Captain Marvel. Behind the
grey behemoth is a destroyed bank. Over his very ample shoulders are sacks of money.
"YOU GOT ANY IDEA HOW LONG IT TOOK ME TO GET ALL THE WAY OUT HERE TO DENVER! I
LEFT NEW YORK TA GET AWAY FROM YOU SUPER MOOKS! I'LL KILL YOU!"
Genis sighs "No you won't. What you'll do is surrender now. I really don't wanna
beat you up, but if you don't give up now, I will kick your grey butt all the way back to
Manhattan. Your choice big guy."
"RAAAAAAAAA!!!" Bellows the Rhino as he charges Captain Marvel!
But Genis merely flies up higher into the air, easily avoiding the Rhinos' charge.
"You can't win , Rhino, and I won't let you go. So you might as well call it quits
now, while you're still able to."
"NEVER!" He howls , as he picks up a car, and hurls it like a toy at Genis.
"Hold it there Rhino, that's some ones property." Answers Genis, as he
catches the car, and lightly sets it down.
But the Rhino charges then, as Captain Marvel drops the car to the street.
"Gotcha , ya punk!" he shouts gleefully, as he rams the young hero, carrying
him through a storefront on the opposite side of the street, and back out the other side!
Ba-KROOOM!
Captain Marvel tumbles to the ground, and shakes his head to clear the cobwebs
"Now THAT hurt. Okay Rhino, you want to play rough, that's cool."
Genis leaps upwards, spreading his legs wide, as the Rhino charges beneath, then in
mid-air, he spins, and kicks the lumbering behemoth in the back of the head, sending him
careening out of control through a parking lot, decimating cars along the way.
He lands, and waits as the Rhino charges him again, only this time, he stands his
ground, as the Rhino rushes him, he drops low, and kicks his right leg out, knocking the
Rhinos own out from under him, snapping him to the ground, face first!
KRAKKK!
The Rhino practically leaps to his feet, but Genis is there first!
"This is getting old big guy, last chance to end it gracefully." Offers the
Universal protector.
"Drop dead, you bum." Is the charging Rhinos only answer
"To bad, I guess I have to get rough now." Says Genis as he heaves off and
cracks the Rhino in the jaw powerfully!
Poom!
The punch stops the lumbering brute in his tracks, but Genis doesn't let up from there.
"When you get to the Vault, or wherever they send you, let the other creeps know that
Captain Marvel put you there!"
He heaves back again, and slams his enemy with a powerful left cross, that smashes the
Rhino from his feet ,and flings him through the air like a rag doll . Landing him in an
unconscious heap through the roof of a car!
Ba-KOW!
"And that ends that." The young Super hero smiles as he claps his hands
together in a wiping motion, a if he was wiping dust from them.
Suddenly a clapping sound turns his attention to a nearby third story window. There, a
beautiful girl, with flowing auburn hair claps enthusiastically in his direction.
"My Hero!" she exclaims gleefully.
Genis flies upwards, as he does several dozen local Police descend on the insensate
Rhino. Captain Marvel grasps the girls hand, and she throws herself into his arms kissing
him excitedly.
"That was amazing! You did that so fast! Just watching you in action made my heart
pound faster." She rambles on enthusiastically.
"Hey Angie, anything for you, love of my life." He kisses her and smiles, as
the two of them fly skywards, his gleaming photon trail glittering behind them.
A moment later, they descend to an old nondescript two story home along a small
thoroughfare , just outside of Denver .
"So much for peace and quiet on our first day back on Earth. And we never got to
the Supermarket like you wanted." He quips as they enter the old house.
"No biggie, Gen. We'll just go out to eat."
"Hey, that's fine with me Angie. After all we've been through the past year, we
could use to have someone cater to us , at least one night." He slumps into an old
chair, dust flying off the cushions beneath his weight .
"Whose house is this again?" He asks nonchalantly
"My Uncles," She calls back from the kitchen. "He's always out of town,
and gave me the keys to use anytime I want."
"Okay, cool. So where do you want to go tonight?" He asks
"I want you to wine and dine me Mr Universal Protector, and then when we come back
I have a special surprise for you."
"Ooohh, I can't wait beautiful."
Still standing in the kitchen , Angie has her head in the refrigerator, as she answers
him, her eyes spark red for an instant before she answers "I bet you can't Genny, I
bet you can't."
Later that evening
The two young lovers dine at the most expensive restaurant in Paris, as Genis flew them
both there in a matter of seconds from Denver. The Eiffel tower fills a window view from
their dinner seats.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" asks Angie.
But Genis is staring at her, in her white low cut dress, her hair flowing like water
over her shoulders, and cascading down the front of her dress. Her green eyes sparkle
impishly as he continues to take in her beauty.
"Not as beautiful as you are, Angie."
She smiles and touches his hand lightly.
"Thank you." She whispers . "Lets go for a walk, before we head
home."
He shrugs, smiling to himself, "Sure, why not?"
They stand, pay the bill and leave. Soon they're walking along the Seine, arm in arm.
"Gorgeous night here in Paris." He says as they walk under the moonlight.
"UUUmmm", she answers, while taking in the sights.
Genis wears a medium blue suit, looking for all the world like a well to do traveler on
his honeymoon with his lovely wife. It would almost be the truth too. That these two love
each other is no surprise to either of them. In the past year they've grown so close, been
through so much. "Things like that either strengthen a bond, or destroy it
utterly." Thinks the Universal protector
She looks up at him under the full moon and pulls his face close, kissing him gently.
Then she whispers "Lets go home."
He smiles, and slaps his Nega bands together, instantly transforming his suit to his
uniform, then he wraps his arms around her waist ,and in a flash of photons, disappears
into the night!
A moment later they land at the home they're staying at, and enter it. Once inside
Angie kisses the young hero with a fiery passion beyond words.
"Come with me." She coos in his ear, as she beckons him up the stairs to the
bedroom.
Once inside the bedroom, his smile is from ear to ear, as he kisses her passionately.
She returns the kisses with a heat of her own so deep, so amorous, that he's completely
taken in to her, completely absorbed in her.
She then speaks, "Genis, do you love me? I mean really, really love me?"
He kisses her again, then answers, "Of course I do Angie, you know that."
Again he kisses her, as he lifts her onto the bed. She begins to pull her dress over her head, stops, kisses him again, and runs her hands down his bare chest.
"Would you do anything for me? Anything"
"You know I would." He answers in a fit of love.
"Would you give me anything you have?"
"Of course." he answers in an almost unheard whisper as he holds her near,
kissing her neck. Gently.
"Would you give me your love, your soul?" She begs.
He stares into her eyes and smiles, while something in the back of his mind screams no,
he answers "Yes my love of course I would, I'd give my life for you."
And then the world around them changes horribly! The room turns blood red and
translucent As they both seemingly are pulled through the floor of the house, through the
very Earth itself! Genis tries to fly upwards, but cannot escape the powerful grip on
himself. He holds onto Angie, who stares blank faced, as would one in a coma, or a trance.
"Don't worry Ang, I have no idea what's going on here, But I'll take care of you,
I promise."
Then, a rasping laughter is heard all around them as their fall slows and stops, both
landing gently in what seems a burning land of heat and molten stone.
"Who's out there? Answer me."Captain Marvel roars defiantly.
The voice the laughter belongs to answers in a mocking tone. "Your master, for all
time now, boy."
Genis turns towards the sound of the laughter, as a figure sits upon a flaming throne,
only his glowing yellow eyes showing through the shadow that surrounds him.
"Your master, Mephisto!" Suddenly the dark demon lord is bathed in a hellish
light, as he laughs hideously. "Hahahahahahaa"
"What'd you do to Angie, why's she zonked out like this?" The words burn in
Captain Marvels throat, as he takes to the air, flying towards Mephisto, fists glowing.
"Sit down , boy." Waves Mephisto offhandedly, and just like that, Genis drops
to the ground like a dead weight.
"How? How can you do this to me?" He stammers in total surprise.
"Easily, I own you now boy. You just gave your soul to me."
"NEVER! You're delusional, demon."
"Flattery Captain? How fitting. No, you did not give your soul to me directly, but
you did to my agent." He beckons to Angie, who walks as if she is asleep, or
mesmerized towards Mephisto.
"Angie! Get away from him, what are you doing? Wake up hon!" Genis howls,
while fighting with all his might to stand. Fighting , and failing.
"She is where she desires to be, boy. She is where she belongs."
"What are you talking about, you monster?" Roars Genis from the ground of
hell.
"She is back where she belongs boy." Smiles Mephisto evilly
"B-back?" Stutters Genis, his eyes wide in fear for what he is about to
learn.
"Yes fool back." Mephisto snaps his fingers and flames enwrap Angies form, as
Genis screams "NNNNOOOOO!"
The flames begin to recede from Angies body, revealing a horrifying image beneath their
fiery touch. Mephisto continues to laugh evilly. "Allow me to introduce you to the
real woman you have sworn your undying love, and lets not forget the most important part,
your soul to. You know her as Angie Bourdelex, but when she was born of mortal woman to me
, I named her Mephista! The devils daughter! Hahahahahahahahaha..."
And Captain Marvels screams of anguish can be heard throughout the length and breadth
of hell...
