Splash Page : Hawkeye lays in the April snow of Canada, red running out of his side as his blood
stains the snow.

His head is woozy, his fellow Avengers had become separated from him and he had ran off to
save a little girl caught in the heavy fighting. With a last second blast arrow Clint had taken the
leg off of an attacking Guardsmen, but in so doing Clint left himself vulnerable to a One Globe
foot soldier and his hastily aimed laser rifle.
Shraak !
(Scene of Hawkeye being shot through the back)
Now Hawkeyes vision begins to blacken completely as shock finally claims him...his last
thoughts...
Hawk: "Bobbi....., I'm comin'..... honey. We'll... finally be back ....togtherrrr....."
Blackness claims Clint Barton...

War Machine lives up to his name, firing rocket after high powered rocket from his back
mounted launcher, destroying tank after tank and crushing legions of troops.
War Mach: "Avengers, defend that town ! These Globers 've gotta be driven out of here.
Cannonball!"
Cannonball: "Yeah War?
War Mach:" There's a flight of Guardsmen headin' this way. You an' me Sammy. Lets take'em
out."

Cannonball: "You got it War Machine, lets rock this town !"
The two heroes rocket off towards the oncoming horde of Guardsmen. On the ground Hercules,
Rage and Firebird batter the seemingly endless sea of One Globe warriors, but even their
strength has it's limits.
Rage : "Herc ! Man, I don't know how much freakin' longer I can keep this up man!"
Herc: "Fight on good Rage! For the sake of our very world do the Avengers Battle this day !"

Voice from above : "You do not battle alone Hercules, The prince of Atlantis as well as all the
Defenders have joined you!"
Herc: "Namor ! My Boon companion! Tis good to see thee again Sub Mariner!"
Another Voice : "What not happy to see me Olympian? Aww, I'm hurt."
Firebird : "Hulk! Then all the Defenders are here? "

Hulk slams two Guardsmen together, shattering their armor as they both scream in agony
Hulk : "Yeah Little Mary Sunshine, the gangs all here, in fact Nighthawks joinin' War machine
and that mook kid up there now."
Firebird : "Don't belittle my friend Cannonball Hulk, he's proven himself for years on several
teams."
Hulk pounds a Titanium man suited Glober as two more and another Guardsman begin blasting
him simultaneously with Lasers, repulsor derived beams as well as shock blasts.
Zrreeeow, shkow, ssshharck!

Hulk : "Arrghhh!"
Moonstone : "Hang on you green gargoyle. You and I may not have seen eye to eye in the past,
but now we're fighting the same war!"
Moonstone swoops in, blazing a trail of light behind her as she fires powerful lasers at the
Titanium men. She does them no real harm, but causes them to pause in their attacks on Hulk,
That's all the opening he needs.

Hulk : " Okay you tight lipped wanna be Iron men , now you made a mistake. You made me
angry, and the angrier the Hulk gets, the STRONGER Hulk gets !"
Hulk grabs the closest T-Man and crushes the head with a sickening squoosh, then heaves the
half ton body at another before bounding through the stunned remaining T-Men.
T-Man 1: "He is a demon! We cannot even slow him !"
T-Man 2: "Continue firing, do not leave, do you hear ? Fight on!"
Suddenly a flash of lightning scorches the T-man on the spot, frying his suit instantly and
shocking him to unconsciousness.

Living Lightning: "Do not worry mi amigos, there is plenty of this to go around! Stay, the party is
just beginning !"
Across the town from this group of heroes battles the woman known as Vixen, her powerful
blows send the Guardsman she's fighting back again and again, as he fires repulsors after her
swiftly moving form, she back flips away , to return from above, having vaulted off a broken
balcony she had leaped to.
Vixen : "C'mere metal head, mama wants a play! "
She swings on a broken metal railing, delivering a deadly double footed kick to the
faux-Guardsmans, that rocks him. He spins, right into a double blow from the combined power
of Namor the Sub-Mariner and the Vengeful Valkyrie
TA-KOW!

Val : "That felt good my friend!"
Namor : "Yes Val , I must agree. These One Globe Scum are beginning to annoy the Avenging
Son to know end."
Moonstone: "Well I for one am glad they're running like dogs with their tails between their legs."
Hercules saunters over, carrying two limp Guardsmen in each arm.
Herc: "Aye my friends. Tis time we struck as our names see fit! The Mighty Avengers along with
their brothers in arms, the Defenders!"

Hulk :"AAA, your still a blowhard Herc, but your one of my favorite sparring' partners anyway."
Herc: "Thank you friend Hulk, ....I think."
Firebird flies over to the mopping up heroes
Firebird : "I just received word from Alpha Flight, they are behind us and stopping One Globers
from fleeing. I am going to try and catch up to War Machine."
Moonstone: "Good. I for one want to end this as fast as possible and get into a hot bath to soak
these tired bones."

Cut to
War Machine, Cannonball, and Nighthawk race low over the tree tops, in front of them and
fleeing quickly are three Guardsmen.
N H : "I'll try to take 'em out with a few quick laser blasts."
W M : "You do that 'Hawk. Soon they'll pull away from us and we'll never catch them."
Wordlessly Nighthawk presses a stud in the palm of his glove and instantly , from a barrel
hidden in each of his wings fire laser blasts, that bounce off the Guardsmen harmlessly.
Shhoom, Shoom !

War Mach : "No good, their refractory coating is dissipating it."
NightHawk: "Well I gotta keep trying."
Shhh-KOW
War Mach : "Not alone you don't."
Instantly, targeting holographic images appear at a thought to James Rhodes eyes, as he thinks
"magnify", the suit compensates. He thinks left Guardsman, right boot. The hologram zooms in
and zeroes the boot.
War Mach: "Fire."
BOOM!
The Pulse cannon on his back blasts the Guardsmans boot, totaling it. Suddenly the Guardsman
rockets out of control into his companions, tangling all three of them at 600+ miles per hour.
Blam-kow!

Nighthawk : "Now it's my turn."
Zrrack!
He fires the lasers, tumbling the Guardsmen even more. With a loud bang they collide again,
exploding in a large puff of ionized steel.
Thhooom!
Cannonball: "Hot damn ! Y'all did it !"
Just then Firebird joins them.
Firebird: "My friends, I think we have a problem."
CannonBall: "What is it 'Bird?"

Firebird : "It is Hawkeye, he is missing."
Cut to an idyllic cabin hidden in the Canadien backwoods. It looks like a cabin out of any childs
nursery rhyme. It's hidden away from the sounds of battle less then a mile away by a large and
dense forest.
Inside the house Hawkeye awakes with a start.
Hawk: " Wha-HWa- BOBBI!"
Hawkeyes vision is blurry, his back is bothering him again, but there's another pain, a dull throb
at his side.
Hawk: (Unngh, what's with my ribs? I-)"Wow."
A female voice from the back of the cabin answers him.
Voice: "Finally awake handsome?"
Hawk: "Uh, yeah. Who are you, and where am I?"

Voice: "You're in my home good lookin' I found you in town, bleeding to death slowly on the
side of a building."
Hawk : "Well uh- who are you? "
A woman walks around the corner in the room, she looks to be in her late 50's, but she still has a
light in her eyes that bespeaks of a mischievous personality.
Clint feels himself smile at her involuntarily.
Woman: "My name is Lonni. I'm your number one fan for years. I never thought I'd get to meet
you , let alone save your life."

Hawk: (Uh, man, why am I gettin' these images of that old movie with James Caan, what was
it??Murder? No, Misery.)
The woman walks over to Hawk and checks his bandage on his side.
Lonni: " You know I think I know what you're thinking Hawkeye, but I'm not some psychopath. I
found you bleeding and I saved your life."
Hawk: "Okay hon, relax. Believe me I'm grateful. Where are we anyway?"
Lonni : "Saskatchewan region, but you know that already right?"
Hawk: "Well I was up here fighting you know. Yeah, I knew that . I meant where's this cabin?"
Lonni: "Not far from where you were. Maybe 3/4 of a mile or so. Lotsa dense woods here, so
sound doesn't travel that far."

Hawk: "So am I okay here or what?"
Lonni: "Yeah, you're okay. It'll be sometime before your on your feet, but nothing permanent as
far as damage."
Hawk: "Well I gotta get outta here Lady."
Hawk tries to stand, but a wave of nausea overcomes him.
Hawk: "Whoa, that hurt. Listen , you gotta hand me my tunic, I've got a communicard in there."

She reaches over and hands him his uniform. Clint stares at the seared hole in the fabric and then
at his bandaged side.
Lonni: "You okay sport?"
Hawk: "Clint, my name is Clint. And yeah , I'm fine. Just lookin' at the damage to my favorite
suit is all. Another inch and I wouldn't be here."
Lonni : "Don't I know it . You got real lucky The Avenger Lady was around."
Hawkeye : "Huh?"
Lonni: "That's me. I followed your adventures for years. Well, not just yours, but all the
Avengers. But you, you were always my favorite."
Hawk: (Man , there goes that James Caan feelin' again.)

Lonni: "When this damn war started I moved as far from the border as possible, found this little
place up here and bought it. I get lotsa snow every year, but no one bothers us this far up, and we
pretty much do what we want. The Globe sent a detachment up here, but that couldn't really be
bothered with us to much. We're so far off the beaten path, well you get the idea."
Hawkeye smiles to himself, then broadly.
Hawk: "Well I gotta thank you Avenger Lady, you saved my life."
Lonni : "I know that hotshot. But now you gotta pay me back for it."
Hawk: "Uh-oh, sounds ominous."
Lonni : "Nope, I was fishing yesterday and caught some fresh trout. I want you to have dinner
with me and then take a pic of us together. My grand daughter will love it ."
Hawk: "Haha, ouch, that hurt. No problem Lonni. Is that the trout I smell?"
Lonni : "Sure is Hawkeye."

Hawk : "Okay, just lemme call the rest of the team and make sure everyone is okay, then we'll sit
down for some home cooking before the others get here."
Lonni : "Good sport , you do that, I'll set the table."
Hawk: (Man I am one kinda lucky guy, this lady finds me and patches me up, then makes me
dinner, and the best part is she doesn't even look like Kathy Bates! Haha, I think things in this
war are finally turning around.)
Hawkeye cues his communicard and immediately begins speaking while we cut to the Siberian
Stronghold of the deadly enemy.
Enemy : " So, my forces in Canada have now fallen to the accursed Avengers. If I had succeeded
in Wakanda and secured the Vibranium I needed , my armored warriors would be invincible.
Now I must execute other plans . There is one other source of Vibranium in this sorry world, and
that should be sufficient for my purposes."
He punches a button and a holographic globe appears before him and he punches another button.
Instantly a section on the bottom of the Globe lights up, Antarctica.
Enemy : "The Savage Land."
Next : Need we say it The savage land and it's Lord! (It ain't who you think)

get to see the Defenders soon and find out what happenned with Thor.
Either way, this issue was amazing, and I love the new intro paragraph!

Wanted to say thanks for sending me the last copy of Avengers 2009 before
it was published at ladds. Also I wanted to say that I like your fan
fiction far better than the other stuff that I have read on there. As such
I wanted to ask you a few questions... Where did you get the general
layout that you use for writing your comics? It seems to read better than
anything else that I am reading on their now and I was wondering if you
could give me some ideas on how to lay out my stories. (Talk about a run
