Splash Page : Avengers bunker is filled with Avengers from the three branches, as the crisis at
hand has gotten that much bleaker in the past twenty four hours. All eyes are on Jan Van Dyne,
the Wasp. She was the Avenger in charge when the worst had happened.
Wasp : "And through what we've learned from Reed Richards and Tony Stark, the burning sky,
as it's been called has a purpose. A finger of flame approximately five miles wide stabbed down
from that sky and incinerated everything in the Washington DC area . All our Government
officials present were killed instantly as well as over a million civilians."

Captain America sits in the auditorium with the other Avengers, but his mind is worlds away.
Never before have things been this bleak , and he has begun to have his doubts about ever
winning this war.
Cap: "Excuse me Jan, but were there any survivors found in the last few hours? We've been on
the move nonstop since word of this strike by the one globe, and I've neglected to check in on
several fronts."
Wasp : "No Cap, no word on any more."

Iron Man: "So when do we hit back, and where? We have to come up with some decisions here
people. And fast."
Black Widow : "I am sorry Iron Man, but I think not."
All eyes turn to the Widow.
Wanda: "Why not Natasha, what are you thinking?"

Widow: "I am thinking that is exactly what they will consider us as doing. They must be
surprised, perhaps as they surprised us."
CapA : "You want us to destroy a city filled with innocents Tash? I can't believe you're even
suggesting that."
Widow: "I'm not Captain, you misunderstand. I suggest we follow our pattern in Wakanda , and
strike against them in small forces in several different areas simultaneously. This will cause
them confusion."

Hawkeye :" Yeah, sounds good ta me guys. And I think we should start here and here."
Hawkeye fires two arrows quickly at a wall map of the world. One arrow lands in Mexico, the
other in Canada.
Hawk: "I think it's time to pay 'em back for Jimmy Macs death*."
* Guardian, James McDonald Hudson died in 2009 #3
The Vision has sat silent through these proceedings, until now.

Vision : "Clint, these villains will pay for this attack on us, all our freedoms and our very
existence is at stake here. But striking in such a way may not be to our advantage here. To
separate the teams this way..."
Cap A : "No Vision, I think Hawkeye's correct here. The feeling of liberating Wakanda was a
good one. I believe in light of what has happened here that we must build on that victory."
Hawk: "Okay Steve, then lets get a plannin' here."

Cut to...above the burning sky. There the Silver Surfer, Quasar, Captain Marvel, and Beta Ray
Bill stand in space blasting the fiery dome with their combined powers, but....
Quasar: "Hold up guys, this isn't working. Our powers either pass through this dome, or are
absorbed into it. We have to come up with another way to get through."
Surfer: "Perhaps there is no other way Wendall*. We may simply be locked out of Earths affairs until they play out completely."
*Wendall Vaughn is Quasars real name.
Beta Ray Bill :"Whatever the story here is, I don't like something that can stop all of our powers
as if they don't exist. Nothing in the Universe should be able to stand against us!"
Voice from behind them: "Perhaps it's power source is not of this Universe."

All heads turn and behold Adam Warlock.
Surfer : "Hello Adam, how are you?"
Warlock: " As well as can be expected I suppose with this event of cosmic significance before
us."
Captain Marvel: "Well Warlock, so far nothing we've tried has penetrated this dome."
Warlock : Then perhaps we are looking at this the wrong way. I suggest we all retire to
Moondragons ship, "The Dragons Eye" which is following me at as slower pace while she scans
for thoughts from the verdant globe beneath us."
Marvel :"She able to make any kinda contact Warlock?"

Warlock :"No Genis-Vell, she is not. Perhaps we should regroup now and consider our options."
Surfer: "Yes, that sounds like the most viable solution."
All the cosmic heroes turn and speed off towards Moondragons ship , as we cut to...
Slorenia, the small Balkan republic that has seen much war in the last decade and a half. It's
people have finally grown tired of fighting, both factions having lost interest in constant death.
That is until the One Globe took the choice away from them. Now they are a captured people
with a common enemy. But our focus is not on the Slorenian people today, it's on one man in
particular. A man thought dead by friends and lover alike. A man known as James MacDonald
Hudson.
(Scene of Guardian laying unconscious amidst debris in a burned out and destroyed building)

Cut to Mexico City, as two Avengers Quinjets fire repulsor blasts at One Globe Jets in a very
one sided dog fight.
On the ground Cap, Vision, Scarlet Witch, Darkhawk , Thunderstrike as well as Yellowjacket
and the Wasp continue to tear through the one globe forces.
CapA: "Watch your flank Darkhawk, those troopers are getting to close for comfort!"
D H : "Relax Cap, I know what I'm doing."
With that Darkhawk delivers a powerful right to the closest One Glober, sending the man
plowing into his fellows.

Scarlet Witch hexes the ground in front of a dozen troopers who suddenly fall into a massive pit
filled with a glue like substance that mires them to the spot.
Wanda : "Another dozen down Cap, how's our ariel boys doing?
Cap : "Not sure Wanda, Iron Man, check in!"
I M : " Right here Cap, another one Globe plane just went down. Hard."
Iron Man and Nova tear through the planes surrounding them, Iron Man firing pulse bolts that
cleave the forward swept wing fighters like hot knives through butter. Suddenly another
squadron appears above the mountains and begins a downward attack vector, directly at the
Heroes fighting the ground troops.
Nova: "We got trouble comin' Shellhead, and big time !"

I M : "Oh HELL ! Cap! Cap ! You got an entire squadron coming right at you, clear out of there
Avenger NOW !"
Cap : "No time or way Shellhead ! They've got us blocked from the rear, we can only go forward,
they must have an entire division active down here."
I M : "Oh HELL!"
Iron Man rockets away towards the enemy planes, repulsor rays screaming louder then his boot
jets, he intercepts the first of them, blanketing the oncoming jets with powerful beams that
shred them to bits. Suddenly Nova rockets by him, plowing through jet after jet after jet.
Nova: "No good Iron Man, They're getting through ! We can't hit them all!"

Off panel Voice: "No, but I CAN !"
In a flash, a steaming blast of energy cuts through every plane there, instantly they begin to drop
like puppets without strings.
Nova "PHOTON!"
I M : "Lady are you nuts??You can't go into battle like this, you're three months pregnant!"
Photon : "Well you're welcome Mr big tough Iron Man ! I just saved the day and this is the way
you thank me?"
I M : "Relax Monica, I'm grateful, but concerned for you is all."

Photon: "Well I appreciate the thought Avenger, but I am capable."
Beneath his helmet Tony Stark smiles.
I M : " That you are lady, that you are."
On the ground the Vision turns diamond hard and batters Guardsman suited one Globers to the
ground with one powerful blow after another.
Vision : "How fare you Yellowjacket ? "
Vision fires his Solar gem, melting the Guardsman in front of him into the ground.

Y J : "Fine Vish, keep up the pressure. "
And so it goes, the Mighty Avengers continue their powerful march through the streets of
Mexico City, as slowly but surely the enemy is beaten back. Cap is jumped by three more black
suited One Globers. As they attack he ducks and rolls out from beneath them, throwing his
shield in one clean movement he breaks the legs of the men surrounding him as the shield
ricochets around him and then returns to his waiting hand.
CapA : "You soldiers surrender now. The day is lost to you. Let the one Globe know their transgressions WILL NOT GO UNPUNISHED ! TODAY MARKS THE FIRST TIME WE HAVE HIT BACK WITHOUT IMPUNITY. THE FIRST OF MANY! WE WILL NEVER
SURRENDER TO THE FORCES OF TYRANNY, DO YOU UNDERSTAND? NEVER! NOT
WHILE A SINGLE AVENGER CONTINUES TO DRAW BREATH. WE WILL FIGHT YOU
WITH ALL OUR HEARTS, OUR FLESH, OUR VERY SOULS! TAKE THAT MESSAGE
BACK TO YOUR MASTERS AND TELL THEM THAT THE EAGLE STILL SOARS THE
HEAVENS, AND THIS TIME HE HAS BLOOD IN HIS EYES AND FIGHTS WITH
SHARPENED CLAWS!"

In a secret base hidden deep in the Siberian wastes an angered mastermind punches his console,
sparks fly everywhere as his video connection is cut and Captain Americas' face disappears from
his monitor.
Villain: "DAMN YOU ! So..now they make it interesting. I should have known better. Very well
Americans. This war can go on, and will! I will fight you with all my pawns and more! I WILL
succeed. I have planned for to long, sacrificed to many years to the great plan. This world WILL
be mine."
He smashes his hand down on the control panel again, as sparks fly every where.

Cap and Iron Man walk amidst the captured and secured One Globe troops as just arrived
American soldiers force enemy soldiers into barracks.
CapA: "you think we made our point?"
I M : "No doubt in my mind Cap. This time we left them shocked and stunned ."
Vision floats over to his two partners.
Vision: "Captain, I have word from Hawkeye and War Machine."

Cap: "And ?"
Vision: "Fighting is still going on, but it seems Canada will also be freed by morning. Alpha
Flight as well as the Defenders have aided our fellow Avengers. The One Globers are on the run
as we speak ."
Just then the two Quinjets that were destroying Jet after Jet land. From one flies the Falcon, the
other, US Agent comes running from.
Iron Man: "How are you Agent?
Agent : "I've felt better Shell head, my injuries* are healing , but it's only been a week since I was wounded."
*US Agent was wounded in battle in issue #2
Cap A : "Well you handled yourself proudly Agent. We couldn't have won today without you and
the Falcons flying here."
Falcon : "Well I'm just glad to get out of that thing and fly free."

CapA : "You've done well Sam."
Falcon : "Thanks partner."
Yellowjacket appears, growing from ant size to full in an eye blink.
Y J : "Cap, Nick Fury's on the com link. Wants to speak to you."
Cap : "Okay Hank."
Without another word Cap turns and heads to the temporary command headquarters.
Cap seats himself as Furys' image sits waiting on a vid screen in front of him.

Fury : "So you done playin' hero for an hour or two Cap?"
Cap: "Hello Nick, good to see your craggy face too."
Fury: "Yeah, yeah whatever. Listen buddy I have ta get right to the point here. The people in
charge that are left want someone high profile to be the interim president Cap. They want
someone the American people know , trust and look up to. Steve, they want you."
