2009, THE WORLD AT WAR! From the ashes of long dead Soviet Russia arises a new threat. Its
mission? World domination! One by one countries have fallen in line behind the flag of the one
globe, through either force, coercion, or bribery . The United States and its few remaining allies
are pushed into a corner, but our first line of defense, as always are The Mighty Avengers,
Earths Mightiest Heroes! This is their story in the worlds darkest hour! This is

Venom : "Eat Petes Brains, eat Petes Brains . Then Captain Americas' TOO !"

Spidey does a perfect stomach throw, rolling onto his back and kicking Venom upwards and
back, over his own head and through a wall.
Broom!
Spidey : "Get out of here guys, this doofus is mine."
Cap : "No way Avenger, we're in this one together. I've already seen Iron man, Nova and
Darkhawk captured by our enemies, as well as the Black Panther*, I won't lose you too !"
*You did read our last three issue didn't you effendi ? If not you better go back and check 'em
out. Rocketin' Ralph
Spidey : "You won't lose me Cap-o , I have a family to get back to, remember ?"
Yellowjacket flies back into the room after exiting momentarily
Y J : "We 've got more trouble heading our way guys, troops, lots of them."

Hawkeye : " Let's hit these geeks then, leave toothy to the Webhead."
Spidey : "Look Cap, find T'Challa and the others, then I'll find you. Obviously someone's been
watching our every move to know I would be here. There's no way it was a coincidence that
Venom was waiting for us. "
Yellowjacket : "Here they come !"
Suddenly the air is filled with lazer fire as dozens of One Globe troopers enter the hallway the
Avengers are standing in. Then leaping over their heads is Venom
Venom: "You didn't think that would stop us did you Petey ? No, we hope not. You should know better. We missed you Little Petey."
Venoms tongue licks his lipless face as he speaks, sending chills down the Avengers spines. All
that is except Spider-man.

Spidey : "Cap , you guys go. I've had enough of this loser giving me headaches over the years.
This ends between us here and now."
Venom ( With a big Grin): "OOOhh, we're scared."
Suddenly Spidey leaps upwards ricocheting off the ceiling, then bouncing off the wall, he spins
in mid air and throws a web line with his left hand to the opposite wall, completing his lightning
quick arc with a tremendous double footed kick to Venoms jaw
Ta-KOW !
Spidey : "Yeah Brock, you better be. This time it's for keeps."
Cap looks back as Spidey and Venom begin exchanging blows, Spidey using his quicker speed
and agility to avoid his enemy as best he can, while countering to fast for Venom to avoid.
Cap : "Okay men, let's finish these lackeys and find our friends.

Hawkeye : "Follow me Cap, I'll clear us a path."
Hawkeye fires several smoke arrows, then a quick shock arrow finishes the group in front of
him. Yellowjacket flies through the smoke ahead of the others.
Y J : "Okay, we're clear guys, lets move it."
CapA :"We're with you Hank."
Yellowjacket races through the darkened gloomy corridors ahead and around a bend, suddenly to
turn around and come racing back at his fellow Avengers.
Y J : "Not this way guys, move it !"
The others turn and follow his diminutive form, as behind him suddenly another dozen One
Globers turn the corner firing.

Hawkeye( As he notches and fires a blinding flash arrow) : "Man, this sucks, I'm gettin' to old for
this."
Y J : "Aren't we all ?"
Yellowjacket fires his disrupters in a sweeping arc, blasting the first row of soldiers back
Cap : "We need open space, this enclosed hallway is to THEIR advantage, not ours."
Cap leaps through the air, kicking a One Glober in the chest as he blocks the mans weapons
discharge on his shield. Standing , Cap springs off the downed mans chest and into several One
Globe soldiers, shield first.

Hawkeye fires two more blast arrows into the crowded hallway
Hawkeye : " C'mon Hank, back 'im up !"
Yellowjacket zips between the troopers unleashing blast after blast after blast
Zark ! Zark Zark !
Y J : "What do you think I'm doing Clint ?"
Cap A :" Both of you can it ! Come on, these troops are finished. Let's find the others."
Y J : "I can get us some help there."
Concentrating momentarily Yellowjacket turns to his friends

Y J : " I found them . I had the local insects look them up, Shellhead, Nova and DH are being
held in the Vibranium mines, T'Challa's in the main throne room of this palace."
Hawkeye : "Okay, which way first then?"
Cap : "The throne room is closer, but assuredly more heavily guarded. On the other hand, it'll
take a while for us to reach the Vibranium mound, especially with the resistance we're facing."
Y J : "I can help there."
Suddenly Yellowjacket throws two capsules filled with his Pym particle shrink gas at the startled
heroes, and all three shrink down to insect size.

CapA : " A little warning next time Avenger ?"
Hawkeye: (Grinning) " Wattsamatter Steve ? Lose your stomach on the way down ?"
Cap A :" You may've done this before Clint*, but it's never been any fun for me."
*For a time, Hawkeye was known as Goliath, utilizing Pyms shrink and growth gas
Hawkeye : "Ahh relax Cap, this 'll save us some time and effort."
Just then two large flying ants enter the room.
Y J : "Climb aboard gents. This is Samson and Delilah.( He points at the two ants) They're good
enough to give you two a ride."
Cap A : "Thank them for us Yellowjacket."
The ants seem to almost "coo" at Yellowjackets message. The others climb aboard the ants as
they fly away , passing right by the ears of another platoon of one Globers and out a window
towards the Vibranium mines.

Hawkeye : "I wonder how Spidey's doing ? "
Cut too...
Bram !
Spidey being slugged by Venom
Venom : "Where's all your big threats now little man ? You're not so tough are you ? Together
we can destroy you and we will."
Venom leaps at Spidey again, this time Spidey says nothing, but puts his all into a powerful
right, that carries Venoms own momentum with it.
Bra-BOOM !
Venom is thrown through the outer wall of the palace, out into the open air, with Spider-Man in
hot pursuit !
Spidey : ( I've got to take the initiative here, Out in the open I have the advantage, not him.)
Suddenly his Spidersense tingles.

Bullets and lazers burn the air around Spider-Man
Spidey " Whoa !" ( Looks like the One Globers are going to make a go of this thing. Okay, their
loss.)
Spidey bounces off the wall he was hanging on, avoiding Venoms head long , uncontrolled rush
which ends with him face first in the solid concrete wall.
Brak!
Spidey : "What's wrong Brock ? Symbiote got your tongue ? Oh , I forgot, The symbiote IS the
tongue. And the brains of the operation. You're just to stupid to make any decisions on your own
anyway."
Venom throws a web line at Spidey, who deftly avoids it, while countering with one of his own
to Venoms head.
Spidey : "Gotcha ugly !"

Before Venom can react, Spider-Man yanks him off the wall, then swings the wildly flailing
villain back into it, hard !
Toom!
Venom : "Oh, that hurt. You made us angry now. No more mister nice guy. Time to suck brains
!"
Again he leaps onto Spidey, both fall from the wall towards the street below
Spidey: ( Gotta get this maniac off of me , now !)
Spidey kicks up hard, catching Venom between the legs
Sprak !
Venom : "Oww! "
The Venom face actually goes blank, stunned by the blow, as Spidey breaks free, he hammers
Venom once in the back of the head as he throws a web line and swings himself to safety.
Venom hits the street , hard.

Cut to the Vibranium mines
Iron Man , Dark Hawk and Nova are still bound to the support beam by the energy sapping
cable.
D H : ( In a whisper)" We have to break free of here Iron Man and we have to do it now."
Iron Man : " Relax 'Hawk, we have an ace in the hole these punks don't know about. I'm sure
things aren't that bad . Just bide your time. "
D H : " If you say so, I will, but I don't have ta like it do I?"
Iron Man : "No, you don't. Just try to wake up Nova."
D H : "Why's he still out ? We woke hours ago."

I M : "Yes, but we're both wearing powered armor, he isn't. I believe his power is being sapped
right through his skin."
D H " Great ."
Suddenly there is a commotion just out of sight range, all the surrounding troops run towards
one area of the cave, blaster and rifle fire can be heard in the distance.
I M : " Get up Nova, NOW ! "
IronMan begins to struggle against his bonds as Dark Hawk does the same.
D H : "C'mon Nova shake it up ! Lets rock !"
Nova : "Unnh ,..w-wha ??"

I M : "We need you Nova, we need your Nova blast, and we need it now !"
Nova : "UH-uh I don't know.."
I M : "Shut up and do it ! I knew you couldn't be counted on ! You were never Avengers material
mister. Second string second rate loser hero that you are."
Nova : "Wha, why you ..."
Braaaa-KOW !
Nova unleashes a Nova blast, that overloads the power syphoning cables and burns them up in
one shot !

Nova : "Okay metal head, you want a piece of me lets rumble !"
Iron man raises his hands up palms outward in a gesture of "Wait".
I M : "Hold it Nova, I said that just to PO you, and it worked."
D H : "Yeah Rich, chill. We're free, that's what counts."
Nova looks at IronMan angrily yet, but then ...
Thoom , Thoom !
All three heroes turn towards the sound of the explosions.
I M : " Let's go !"

The three heroes rocket towards the sounds of fury
Nova : " Ya know Powell, he really cheesed me off there."
D H : "Yeah well, he was successful then, cause without you, we wouldn't 've been free right
now."
Nova : "Yeah, I guess."
I M : "This is not what we expected men ."
Darkhawk and Nova turn the corner and see the One Globers being pinned down by fire from
several Wakandans, obviously rebels. Guardsmen armored One Globers lie unmoving as the
Wakandans fire exotic weaponry .

I M : "Lets go ! We have to help them ! "
Iron Man flies into two Guardsman , slamming them both into the solid rock wall of the cave
Nova and Dark hawk follow suit, and soon...
Dark Hawk : " Well that's the last of them ."
Nova : "Yeah, felt good too."
I M : "Only thing is, I don't see those Titanium men around."
Nova : "Yeah, I noticed that as well."
Dark Hawk: "Here comes somebody, looks like he's in charge of this group."

A tall Wakandan warrior approaches, he carries a rectangular shield, as do the rest of his
company, in his left hand. A hi tech blaster rifle hangs from his shoulder.
Warrior : "I am W'Tobi, the Kings first Lieutenant. My men and I have been hit and running
these dogs for days now from the jungle. When we heard the Mighty Avengers themselves had
come to rescue our King, we knew the moment to strike was ripe."
I M (Shaking W'Tobis' hand) : "We thank you Lieutenant W'Tobi, your timely intervention gave
us the break we needed."
Nova : "Okay, well what do we do now ?"
Suddenly a voice seemingly from nowhere answers Novas' question
Voice : "Now my friends, we strike back. Together."
Seemingly from out of nowhere Captain America, Yellowjacket, and Hawkeye appear, growing
from ant size to full size in an eye blink.

W'Tobi : "By the Gods of our fathers !"
Nova : "Yeah, I could say somethin' cool like that too."
D H : "Then why didn't you bucket head ?"
Cap A : " Enough levity gentlemen. We have troops , we have weapons and we are the Avengers.
It's time we took Wakanda back !"
W'Tobi : "Yes, and free the King as well!"
All Assembled : "So say we ALL , Avengers Assemble !"
They all shake their fists or weapons at the sky

Cut to the throne room of Wakanda. T'Challa, the Black Panther hangs from an iron cross. A
figure sits in the throne, he has it swivelled with its back to The Panther.
Figure : "So my old enemy. Finally I've beaten you. It's taken years, but like the most stubborn of
creatures, I kept trying until I succeeded. Wakanda and all its Vibranium is now mine. Mine and
the One Globes."
Panther (Painfully, but still proudly): " Gloat while you can dog, the day is not yet done."
Figure : "Oh, but it is"King" T'Challa, The Avengers have been defeated and captured or have
disappeared into the jungle along with your own elite guard. Admit it Black Panther , no one can
save you now! "

suddenly the twin doors to the throne room explode inwards as Iron man, Captain America,
Nova, Yellowjacket and Darkhawk burst into the throne room, followed by several Wakandan
troops. Behind them in the streets, the whine of blaster fire can be heard.
Cap (Looking dramatic, pointing with his left hand, while his shield rests on his right arm) :
"Freeze mister, you and your One Globe goons are finished here !"
Suddenly the figure spins in his throne
Figure : "I think not Captain, rather it's you who are done HERE !"
Hawkeye : "KLAW !"
Y J : "Who else Hawkeye, this madman's been after the Vibranium here for years."
Klaw: "Yes, that's right , and now it's all mine."
Nova : "Guess what red, you lost it .The One Globers are on the run and with our help Wakanda
'll be a free nation again by nightfall."
Klaw : "NEVER !"

Klaw fires a sound blast at Nova, blasting him through a wall as Iron Man rockets upwards and
begins firing his repulsers at Klaw. They harmlessly pass through him.
Shrak !
Klaw : "Fool, you cannot harm the master of sound, but I can harm you , and I will !"
He fires a sound blast at Iron man, slamming him through the floor to the lower level
Klaw : "You're all helpless before my might ! No one can stop the master of sound. Surrender
now, you haven't any hope !"
Cap A : "We'll never surrender tyrant. I've heard your same tired old song from countless others
through the last sixty five years, and they've also faded into obscurity , just as you will."
Cap hurls his shield, it slams into Klaw, knocking him from the area in front of the throne,
where he was standing.
Krak!

Klaw :" Wha, that's not possible ! How could your shield hit me , unless....Vibranium, your
shield is made of, at least, partially Vibranium !"
Cap A: "Good guess Klaw, I'd say it's an even playing field now, wouldn't you?"
Klaw : "No Captain , I would not ! "
Klaw fires off multiple sonic blasts at Cap , who parries them with his shield
Cap : "DarkHawk, free T'Challa , then get him out of here."
D H : "I'm on it Cap."
Darkhawk shreds the chains that hold the Panther, then flies the wounded hero out into the
streets, where upon seeing him alive, his citizens join W'Tobis' warriors in a now full scale
revolt.

Klaw pushes his attack as Cap is slowly inexorably backed up, suddenly the two Titanium men
come crashing into the palace from the roof, followed by four Guardsmen.
Klaw : "See Captain ? Favor smiles on me this time. You're alone against all of us."
Suddenly a blast arrow sizzles through the air, exploding on the lead Titanium mans armor.
Hawkeye : "What'd you forget about me Klaw baby?"
Klaw : "No fool , never. You were just beneath my notice."
Hawkeye: "Your mistake pasty face ."
Hawkeye fires another arrow right into Klaws solid sound form, this doesn't pass through, but
lodges in his chest.
Klaw : "NO What have you done to me ?"
Hawkeye : "Vibranium baby, just what you wanted, with an added surprise."
Whoom !
The arrow explodes, scattering Klaw all around the room, as solid sound.

Hawkeye : "C'mon Cap, get up we've still gotta deal with these mooks in the armor."
Cap A : "I'm with you Clint."
The first Titanium man rockets towards Cap, but amazingly the black garbed form of Darkhawk
intercepts him, throwing both of them through the wall, to the battle outside.
D H : "I owe you for last time rust bucket, let's rock !"
The guardsmen swoop low over Hawkeyes and Caps head, as they leap aside together, avoiding
being hit.
CapA : "We need some air cover, where's Iron Man or Nova? "
Hawkeye : "Don't know, Klaw tagged them both pretty hard."
Y J : "Hey guys don't forget about me !"
Yellowjacket grows upwards from miniature size to twenty feet in one step, hauling off with a
massive right into a Guardsmans jaw, sending him flying
Krak !
Y J : "That should buy us some time at least."

Outside Darkhawk and The Titanium Man exchange blows, but Dark Hawk is no match for the
Titanium mans power, slowly he begins to give ground.
D H : ( This sucks, this guys starting to beat me back here. Gotta try something different.)
Darkhawk fires a point blank Amulet blast into the face of the Titanium Man.
Brrr-ZAT !
T-man :" Arrgh"
D H : "Sing it baby ."
Darkhawk delivers a massive two handed blow to the Titanium mans head.
Krak !
Then rockets away in a loop, building up speed, he arcs back and delivers a double fisted blow to
the T-mans head once again.
KLONG !
D H : "That's for what you did to me earlier."

Back inside the palace
Cap and Hawkeye exchange fire from cover with the two remaining Guardmen.
Hawk: "Cap, this is no good, we can't get a clear shot at these guys, and they'll outlast us here."
Cap : "I know Clint, just keep firing, they haven't won yet."
Hawkeye :"Easy for you to say, but I'm running out of arrows ! "
Cap : "Fight on Avenger !"
Cap throws his shield at one of the Guardsman, who deflects it with a Repulsor. It lands out of
Caps reach.

Hawkeye: "Uh oh."
Behind the two heroes, and unseen buy them, Klaw begins to reform. With an evil grin he aims
his weapon arm at their unprotected backs, when ...
Spidey : "Gangway !"
Thoom !
Spider-Man and Venom crash through the ceiling, tangled and exchanging blows Spidey kicks
free and Venom falls right into Klaw as he fires of a powerful sonic blast
ZZZZZZRRAAAPP!!!
Venom : "YYYEEeeiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!"
The symbiote is ripped from Venoms body by the force of the blast, as Spidey drops on top of
Klaw, he holds Klaws weapon arm in an unbreakable grip of steel, the sonic blast liquefying the
Symbiote as both Brock and the Alien creature continue to scream in unison. Until finally, the
Symbiote simply disappears, leaving only a gelatinous residue behind.
Outside the battle rages, Iron Man and Nova have joined the Wakandan troops in battling the
One Globe forces, effectively forcing them back and out of the city.
Nova : "Wa-Hoo !"
I M : " Good going kid, let's get back to the others, the Wakandans can take it from here."

The inside of the castle, Klaw and one last Titanium man stand against Cap, Hawkeye,
Yellowjacket and Spidey.
Cap : "Stand down Klaw. You've lost . There's no reason for any more fighting here."
Klaw : "Wrong Avenger, I won't be taken again. No more prisons for me. Now or ever again! "
Klaw turns to the Titanium man next to him.
Klaw : "On my mark, together we decimate these fools ."
The T-man says nothing but as Klaw turns to blast the heroes, the Titanium Man inexplicably
phases his hand into Klaws solid sound form, dispersing him in a low "WHOOMF".
Cap : "So there you are Avenger, I wondered when you'd show up again."
The Titanium man drops to the ground , as Vision steps from his form.
Vision : "Yes captain. I was in control of this mans higher functions for some time now, as I
"possessed" him upon our landing here earlier, after these Titanium men had beaten our friends
unconscious."
Spidey : "What I wanna know is how'd you "possess" this guy. I never knew you could do that."

Y J : "I can answer that, Vision has the ability to control the flow of blood to ones brain, by
physically merging with that person.* "

Spidey: "Well I guess all I can say is "OUCH."
Epilogue
The next morning sees a wounded but recovering Black Panther wishing his friends farewell.
Panther: " I cannot thank you enough my friends. You have saved my nation as well as my self
from these savages. The Villain Eddie Brock will remain in custody here for his crimes against
my people as well."
Cap : "Our pleasure Avenger. Get well. We may need you in the final battle for the world."
Spidey : "Yeah panther, as far as Brock goes, good riddance, you can keep him and let 'im rot."
Panther : "I will be ready, what's mine is yours Captain. You need but call."
Cap : "We'll be in touch old friend."
With many waves and handshakes, the heroes leave T'Challa aboard a new Quinjet he provided
for them.
Y J : "That felt good heroes, that's the first major blow we've dealt the One Globe."
Hawkeye : "Yeah, that'll make 'em think twice now."
Cap A : "We can only hope Hawkeye."
Suddenly the Wasps voice fills the cockpit.
Wasp : "Avengers to Strike force, do you copy ?"
Iron man : "Yes Jan, we're here . What's wrong ?"
Wasp : "Iron Man, I-I have some.... very bad news. The Globe struck in retaliation for our
victory in Wakanda. Hank, Steve, Th-they de-destroyed Washington, President Jameson as well
as all of congress is dead."
Cap A : "My God ! "
Spidey : "Jonah."
Wasp : "And Cap, they're demanding our uncondtional surrender."
